I get to try shoes! Plural. Like two at the same time! One on each foot! So I’m going to mow the backyard (about 10 minutes of work) and then read a book with my foot up for the rest of the day and see how I’m doing and my fucked up surgical foot is doing tomorrow.

I've been doing a better job at finding time to work on these, and I have also gotten more inspired after following two prompt words from the official Inktober prompt list!
I think that I might have forgotten to yell abt my absolute fave part of two shoes yday: the fact that rio got Beth's dress open in the closet?? To ~savour?? Like the bathroom break callback but not?? Like I'm not doing suuuuuuper quick n totes clothed again no thank you??? But THEN that he zips her up, before she can ask, before she even thinks about it?? 😭 (the anti deanness is very very pleasing) (and also I love that the two of them both know what a clock looks like ha ha)
Hahaha, omg, thank yooouuuu. I changed that scene a bit, because mostly I just loved the thought of that being Beth’s sexy dress~ but also it not being a particularly easy dress to get under, y’know? He didn’t unzip it at all in the original draft, but while I was re-writing it, I was like ‘screw it’ haha. He likes touching her too much! And he knows Beth likes him touching her! I don’t think he’d settle for the bathroom break scenario again!

“Two o’clock,” she says under her breath, and Rio looks down at her like he’s trying to swallow his grin. He furrows his brow, nods faux seriously, and Beth feels her cheeks flush, which is ridiculous, because god, she’s doing what he’s asked her to. She’s about to say as much, when he steps her back suddenly and dips her.
The air is sucked from her lungs as her eyes suddenly fall on the illustrious arched ceiling of the place, a shiver running through her body as Rio bends his own forwards over her.
“You can draw me a map. I’m doin’ my own thing, remember?”

Two Shoes I’m actually hoping to get up tomorrow. It’s super close to being finished, and I have the day off from work and no uni pressures (did an exam and had an assignment due over the last fortnight, so it’s been a bit stressful, plus work’s been really intense because of covid!) + no friend phone calls planned (I’ve had soooo many since lockdown started, haha). I’m excited to get it done, and I hope you all like it! It’s a pretty silly premise, but it’s been really fun to write.
The pirate!AU (What the Sea Wants, the Sea Will Have) is probably a few weeks away? I don’t want to start any new multi-chaptered WIPs until I’ve finished a couple of the ones I’m currently posting – particularly Cross Your Fingers and See You in the Light. I’m hoping though that I might get those two finished over the next two weeks though (CYF 13 should be up tonight!)
I have earmarked some time this weekend though to finish off my plotting for it, and that usually spirals out into writing, haha, so who knows? Maybe I’ll have the first part up a little faster. (My current plotting has it at 5 chapters, if you’re curious! :-) )
