Untimely Vengeance

-In the aftermath of it all, a couple of exhausted children take the time to recover. As long and arduous as the journey was, many loose ends were left behind.

One of them had a        name.  

Lurking deep into the darkness, a wicked being makes sure his presence isn’t known, while he plots. 

Now that one of his biggest foes was in a weakened, pitiful state....

...Seemed like a perfect oportunity to STRIKE.

The truest enemy amidst the battle was not the child himself, but the distorted image of one unlike him. Yet, that being had the i m p  u d e n c e  to aim higher than the shadowy entity. As much as he wanted to take his frustration on the thing, it was long gone.

However...

In his mind, after being unable to prove himself a formidable foe against the terrors of a warped, misguided determination... He had been absolutely 

HUMILLIATED. 

Yes... even if the flower was gone a proper replacement for his revenge was standing before him, just a few feet away.

The presence feels ever so closer.

Snowdin’s icy landscape seemed colder than usual, the snow coming down in soft yet endless amounts, blanketing the footprints of the 10 year old who happened to be traveling through – though perhaps a better word would be running.

Chara’s breath stung with each inhale of the icy air, every extremity of their body burning from the temperatures outside. This discomfort, however, was the least of their worries as they charged through Snowdin, clinging tightly to a collection of stolen papers, the item’s owner being clear when one would look upon the writing of wingdings on the research notes. The child’s eyes flitted about, panic as if they were being chased in their gaze; and in their glances behind them Chara had not looked forward to realize they were barreling towards somebody.

In the quiet and peaceful day of Snowdin, residents would be able to make out a distant shout of panic in the air.

Slamming into the boy, the two would soon find themselves crashing down the icy hills, unable to make out anything but the white blurs of snow as they tumbled toward the peninsula below. Chara felt nothing but the sensation of frigid cold and sharp elbows slamming in to their ribs, and despite their wish to scream, every tumble would leave them breathless.

As soon as Chara could feel the slope’s decline; and their legs and arms could finally grasp the cold ground to lift themselves up, Chara jumped up – an action they would regret as they immediately fell back towards the ground, out of breath and in pain. Gasping intakes of air, the child’s eyes gazed about at the papers flying through the air, scattering throughout the snow and the icy waters. Looking towards the source of the one to blame for their fall, Chara’s eyes widened at the sight of another human. It didn’t even seem as if there was any hesitation before the child was simply glaring at the other.

Johnny had kept a close eye out in case he’d find the clearing soon whilst jogging to keep a steady pace through the cluster of trees surrounding him. The flora was unsure whether if it was day or night but he assumed it to be the afternoon probably.

Though, as much as it seemed unnecessary to think of these, they served as mild distractions due to how the only problem seemed to stare right back at him. He had great concern over the child he had called earlier and wondered if his contribution would be fruitless due to the events playing out.

An exasperated sigh escapes his mouth, causing a foggy cloud to fume out before disappearing within a second as he finally reached the clearing and in the distant western area....The bridge.

It was clear that the orange sparks of bright light was a red flag that easily told him Cammy was there, along with the man going against the boy.

Grimacing, he held back his breath since he didn’t have a better perspective to watching the fight. It was either stay here and watch or risk trying to get close which frankly, the latter sounded even more ridiculous and that’d probably place himself in more danger.

Looking around, he wondered where Emmy was since she did say that she was watching the fight but where...

When Johnny had looked to the side that he caught a glimpse of a red sleeved arm that waved him over along with Emmy poking her head out. It was clear that he was relieved to see her as he had already approached the hiding spot where she had chosen.

Taking a knee, he ignored the cold spike that shot up his leg as he traditionally flashed his usual carefree smile, despite the circumstances of course but it was better to look hopeful on his part.

“Hey Emmy, hope I’m not late right?”

Right place, wrong time.

Amidst the area of Waterfall that had been silent save for the ambiance of a running rivers and steady droplets echoing in the distance that a certain monster had disturbed the serene atmosphere with the constant footfalls of his shoes stomping across the soil, indicating they were in a rush against time itself.

When Johnny had split off from Injustice, he was unsure if he’d be able to carry out their request lest he suffer another berated talking down from him. In a way, the ink had undoubtedly bore the same headstrong intentions of protecting their family.

The flora had kept a brisk sprint throughout the area of Waterfall, searching most of the caves but turned up empty-handed in his search. He had to give her credit, she knew how to hide for one being so restless half the time.

“Damn it, where is she!?”

In his perspective, it’d be like finding a needle in a haystick with how much effort he was scanning each place he had been searching through. That was until a certain light flickering at the mouth of a cave had caught his attention, which was strange because he hadn’t explored that one yet...Perhaps this could be it?

Regardless, it was time to act. The flora would eventually reach the entrance and step inside, keeping a close eye out for Harbinger but what he had encountered was...

Shocking to say the least. The culprit behind the fixture of light was what appeared to be a child’s silhouette but it was clear that something was wrong and what added to this appalling discovery was the fact that he recognized them, standing over someone while they had their back turned to him.

“Wait...Cammy!? Is that you!?”
