This Day In Buster…September 7th 1919…
Backstage is released. The Comique ‘two-reeler’ was the first Buster Keaton made after returning from WWI. It was also the only two-reeler comedy to be released in colour. Al St John had a reduced role with Jackie Coogan Sr (father of Jackie Coogan, the kid of Chaplin’s ’The Kid’) appearing at length with an eccentric dance routine.
EASY STREET (1917). Charles Chaplin stars in a two-reeler silent comedy in which his tramp does battle with an enormous street thug.
Follow Him Friday
(Wherever he’s headed!)
Amen.
Wack-a-Ding Wednesday
THATAWAY THURSDAY
...breaking news: Alice Mann is always mis-credited as The Vamp, when in fact she played a housemaid in love with a large police officer....
NOW WHAT, NOVEMBER?
Sci-Fi Friday.
Because it’s just plain impossible.
