Alright, alright, apologies to the previous anon because I misunderstood your question ;;;;; (I hope this is the Amanda thing you want to talk about?)
So I did a bit of digging too and apparently from what I got, what Amanda said is along the line of Johnlock fanarts being more about Martin and Ben instead of purely fictional Johnlock, and she doesn't want her kids to see that...?
Erm...as a person who ships Smaugbo and Kharthur and such because of Martin and Ben I admit that I'm trash and therefore have no say in this matter, but from other Johnlockians' point of view I can see why her comments come across as insensitive. I mean, well, of course Sherlock fanarts would have to have Martin and Ben's faces because they play John and Sherlock? You can't really draw other actors' faces and call it BBC Sherlock fanart? It's something we don't have control over, whether it's about Martin and Ben or not. Also, saying that we shippers are "concocting a romantic relationship where none exists" is a bit, well, hurtful. We're free to interpret the relationship as we wish, and as long as we don't send bomb threats to the writers and force them to make Johnlock canon, let us be.
On the other hand, though, it's understandable that she's uncomfortable about the fanarts. I personally don't think it's homophobic, nor is it a specific attack on the Johnlockians. I mean, sure the fanarts are about John and Sherlock, but appearance wise it's still her life partner and her friend's faces being depicted, not some random strangers. I sure as hell will feel pretty awkward if I see porny stuff that features faces of people I'm close with, homosexual or not. And it'll be even more awkward if her kids ever find pictures of their dad and uncle Ben lookalikes doing things. I think Amanda feels the same about all other ships, but only Johnlock was mentioned because it's a lot more popular and therefore easier to find on google.
So yeah, Amanda could have worded it better so as not to hurt fans' feelings. She has her flaws, but sending her twitter hates is overdoing it.
