In the first episode when Argos says this, we just treat it as a joke. We just think he's being ignorant and annoying.

But what if he wasn't actually being ignorant?

In Argos deals with death episode, we find out that Argos lived with his great great grandpa and he had no other family relatives, and his grandad was a banana leaf. Now in the void ppl are usually racist to banana leafs, so maybe that's the reason his grandad didn't have a lot of friends (Quote from Argos, "It's just sad..he didn't have any friends. I'm gonna be the only one at his funeral"). And also, in the Argos birthday episode, we find out that Argos never had any friends. This might be because ppl didn't wanna be friends with him cuz his grandad is a banana leaf. Which means that this quote is actually true, he did go through a lot of struggles with loneliness throughout his childhood because he's one sixteenth banana leaf. Now he did worded it weird, like people treat him badly just cuz he's one sixteenth banana leaf and not cuz of his banana leaf grandad, but can we really blame him for it? That man has never had a friend before and the only person he talked to is like small talk with random ppl he work for and also his grandad. Me personally I think this was just him trying to be empathetic and helpful, and not realise that saying that is actually pretty annoying.

Twomp theory

So I’ve had this theory for a while on why Argos is so afraid of Void 1 and why his grandfather is dead. So what if his grandfather went into Void 1 and came back, turned into a monster, and Argos put him out of his misery, and why he is so afraid of Void 1 is all of his family disappeared into Void 1, either they died or are still in Void 1, why he never goes there and stops people from going there (tearing up that one person’s ticket to Void 1) so they don’t end up like his family, or he doesn’t end up like his family.

A while ago i made a post about a pretty unserious twomp hc (this post) that i have that ties to my headcanon that twomp takes place at some point of the 2000's maybe early 2010's at latest but i never elaborated on the later. Today i was feeling like talking about it.

I began to think about this when i realized that the technology shown in the episodes isn't the most modern, we've seen landlines and this type of tvs ⬇️ (idk what they're called in english)

And that's it. For comunication most void residents seem to use only two methods: phone calls or letters.

But then i thought; what i consider to be modern technology is human made technology that'd have to be introduced to the void by the humans who've recently started moving in, maybe it just hasn't happened yet. There's also the fact that making technological connections work between different voids might be complicated, this could be related to letters being a fairly used way of comunication.

As i was overthinking technology in the void i realized that there's a much simpler way to back up my hypothesis about the time setting:

Mark!

We know he was 10 y/o durning the events of maf and that maf takes place in 1997 (i have a reliable source for this information, Ashur himself!) Ashur also said that the Mark in twomp is an older, healed Mark. We don't know his age but since he has a job we know he's an adult. (Funny how i have an habit of calling Mark my child even though he isn't that many years younger than my parents)

So yeah, that's why i belive twomp is set in the 2000-2010's.

Uuuuh i think this ended up being closer to a theory than a headcanon.

When did Mr plant stopped wanting to kill Argos and fall in love with him?

In the first episode, Argos visits Mr plant's house 2 tell him about his dna results. The narrator tells us that "Mr plant doesn't care much for them, but even introverts need company once in a while". And also Mr plant fantasised about killing Argos probably because he's annoying. This suggests that Mr plant most likely didn't like Argos, but only tolerate him cuz he didn't have any other friends.

His feelings for Argos start to SLIGHTY change in the moon guy episode where Argos gives him a star. He now thinks that Argos might not be as bad as he think, but he still doesn't like him. This is implied cuz he rejected Argos' invitation 2 go stargaze and killed the kids he was supposed 2 babysit for Argos.

His feelings for Argos start to get conflicted in the episode where he gets a job. This is the point where he starts to actually appreciate Argos a bit. This is because of this guy who calls him says that he's lonely n asking his help 2 make a friend. This make Mr plant realise that he's lucky to have someone who cares about him (Argos). The fact that he's starting 2 appreciate Argos is reinforced in the fact that he willingly visits Argos' void 2 watch TV with him. This is probably the first time he's ever done that, cuz like Argos was so surprised when he showed up in his void, meaning he didn't expect him 2 visit him.

Mr plant starts to treat Argos as an actual 'friend'. Making these star thingys for him on Christmas, listening 2 his rant about the present head guy, and even helping him clean up the murder.

Then finally, in the Valentines day episode, he gives Argos a heart and they officially become boyfriends. But he still wasn't very sure abt it. This is suggested because he wasn't planning 2 give Argos a heart, he only happened to do that cuz he killed the valentine heart shop manager guy. And also when Argos asked him if this meant that they were "more than friends", he shrugged instead of nodding. This shows that he's kinda uncertain.

Anyways so the episodes after this one shows that Mr plant's feelings of Argos isn't conflicted anymore, and now is actually sure that he loves him.

Soooo yeah this is how his feelings towards Argos changed and developed throughout the series! :D

Did the police guy and Rose head guy dated before Rose died?

In the ear therapist episode, this is one of the posters in the room.

This resembles them very much, perhaps suggesting that they have been in that example of "healthy relationship" before. Maybe it is just a coincidence that the character designs look similar, but I have some other points that may suggest that it is not a coincidence and that it is them. But firstly, some context.

Police guy first appears in the episode where Argos and Mr plant travel to the beach to see the blackhole, accidentally killing a man in the process. The police asked them if they have seen the man before and Argos said no. We do not really see him in any other episode, but he is sometimes mentioned in the Void newspapers.

Rose guy first appears in the Argos' great great grandad funeral episode, selling flowers to Argos for the funeral, but that is irrelevant now. He later appears in the Void superstar episode, where he gets killed by Mr plant for constantly taking pictures of Mr plant and not leaving him alone.

The rose guy is dead, so if my theory is correct, the police guy would be sad about it since he was his boyfriend. He is a police, his job is to protect people, but he could not even protect his lover. This means he would probably be depressed. This idea might be true because in the first episode where we see the police man, the rose guy was not dead yet, and in that episode he is seen to be very cheery and optimistic. But later on, when he talks in the newspapers, he sounds more pessimistic and apathetic towards people. He does not seem to care about people anymore, this sudden switch in his feelings might be because his boyfriend has died.

So this is why I think they dated before Rose died.
