omg well dualscar is called the Orphaner which gives me the impression that he kills lusii and the summoner is a big fan of animals/lusii so i can definitely see some anger there
that's a great ancestor ship
FUCK YOU GUYS I DON'T CARE IF I'M LATE AND YOU'RE ASLEEP, I'M SENDING YOU SADSTUCKS DANGFLABBIT.
sound of your footsteps echo so loudly in the staircase, but that’s not important. He’s in front of you, urging you on, frantic with the reality of the situation. You hope that there’s someone behind you, that the noises below are them following to catch up, but you can’t bring yourself to admit the truth. He’s so confident in front of you, you’re both going to make it and everything is going to be fixed. You want to believe that.
As the two of you break into an open chamber, you immediately start looking for the next stairwell. Of course none of this could be easy, everything had to be riddles upon puzzles and you’re one for miracles, but none of this seems to be any sort of wonderous.
You’re the first to hear it, a low sick hissing from the floor, and you shove him forwards, towards one of the walls. Just in time, as well, as something sinuous and dark snakes its way up. A pair of them, masked, twins in rage and joy it looks like, and you /hear/. Thousands of whispers fill your ears, laughter, sorrow, everything threatening to unmake you with nothing more than a word.
His shout gives you pause, and you break your gaze to look over. Sickle in hand, he’s charging towards you, but you stop him with a bellow. He looks shocked, but you give him that same, soft grin as always, waving him away, even as you heft your club over your shoulder. You’ll take care of this, you assure him, and be right there, he can’t afford to stop moving.
You can see it in his eyes, he wants to stay, but as one of the abberitions shrieks with laughter and swoops towards you, you yell this time. He needs to leave, you’ll be /fine/.
You don’t see him leave, but his footsteps grow fainter and fainter. And as you stare down at the twin messiahs before you, you wish you didn’t have to lie to him. Another swing of your club staves one off, but moments later there’s an awful pain and a chill through you, and suddenly the face of rage is emerging from your stomach, painted in indigo and snarling in defiance.
You didn’t want to lie. But you had to. You wish you could have seen him go. But you didn’t. You wish you could have told him. But you never did. As the sinewy body rips through you, you fall forward without its support, breathless as your lungs begin to collapse. As purple spittle gathers at your lips, you close your eyes and think about what should have happened. How you should have told him. “flushed for you, sev. so fucking flushed.”
I HATE YOU.
SHOWING YOU THAT PART OF MY FAN ADVENTURE WAS THE WORST IDEA I EVER HAD. I'M NEVER GOING TO BE HAPPY AGAIN.
He had smiled in the end, his thin fingers covering your own, tightening your grip on your weapon and pushing the edge to his own neck. You can still hear the words he whispered in your ear, feel the gentle, insistent tug at your arm. He thanked you. You saw it on his lips. He thanked you, and you can’t take it. You slide down to the floor, the wall to your back, and just stare. His blank eyes stare back. Your name is Karkat Vantas, and you’ve just killed your best friend.
NO NO NO NO WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT. NO, COME ON MOIRAILS ARE NOT FAIR GAME. IT IS ON.
