About Yaki—I always assumed she showed up whenever Shintaro was talking to Ayano in those clips that take place elsewhere? For example, ep1, the very beginning, when Shintaro talks to her and is holding her scarf. (I’ve noticed that Yaki doesn’t wear a scarf, I think) and other episodes/scenes where she wears no scarf. Is that true? Also, is Yaki in LTM?

Yes this is true! It’s safe to assume any “non-scarfed” Ayano in MCA is actually Yaki, ESPECIALLY the Yaki seen at the very beginning of episode 1.
In these scenes, she’s always talking to Shintaro in the Daze–presumably when he’s asleep, but it’s very possible that this conversation is taking place between timelines, as the manga has shown that they also converse while time is resetting.
Judging from this bit of convo though:

Shintaro can’t remember some if any of his conversations with Yaki, though I believe that he only can’t remember any that take place in the Daze. There are several reasons why this can be, but my theories are that either 1) he literally can’t use Yaki in the Daze because she’s right there or 2) Since red jersey Shintaro always died before “activating” Retaining Eyes, he literally doesn’t know how to use her and isn’t aware that she’s his power in these scenes.
(Kido in Novel 7 is shown to use Concealing Eyes in the Daze much like she does in the real world, so the idea that the Daze nullifies Yaki’s powers is out)
I only have the episode 1 scene as example, as tbh I need to rewatch the entire anime to remember if there are other scenarios. There was another with Shintaro sleeping in the Daze, but the Ayano talking to him had a red scarf on.
Someone pointed out before that “Ayano” in the credits was never listed as Ayano in the first few episodes:
(Credits from Mekakucity Actors Episode 1. Listed below is the cast: the very last line shows “XXX” as 中原 麻衣, Nakahara Mai, Ayano’s voice actress)
This is more proof that the Ayano we see initially is actually Yaki!
So if we assume that “No Scarf Ayano that talks to Shintaro in the Daze = Yaki”, then YES, she does appear in Lost Time Memory–in Route XX! In it he goes to take a nap and awakens in the classroom, next to her.

He then starts actually talking to her
When first watching this PV, it’s pretty easy to assume that he’s literally just dreaming about Ayano–but the MCA revelation that he visits the Daze when sleeping and Yaki’s existence points out that this scene may actually be him doing just that, in another timeline.
The novels points out that Shintaro had dreams about Ayano almost every night. What if it’s not just guilt, but him visiting Yaki and faintly remembering? (Tbh who knows–for all we know he can only visit Yaki in the Daze on the 15th, which is when he visits her in LTM)
Did Jin really think Yaki this far ahead? Who knows, but I don’t think it was an oversight to tell Sidu that Ayano doesn’t wear a scarf in this scene.
