I just have one question - how did Aidne outlived three(3) husbands?? It's just I thought the curse makes its carrier more weaker and, well, shortens their live subscription.
So it's either my brain don't work like it's supposed to do, or her husbands were really unlucky...
Long story short, really really bad luck lmao
The dead husbands are unfortunately mostly throwaway characters. Their purpose is to show that the curse affects the Shrouds in other ways than just physically! They tend to have quite the number of tragedies amongst themselves.
Aidne lost all her husbands in either workplace accidents or due to ilness. Her son (Mr Shroud, who is the baby she's holding in the picture) lost his son (Ortho) and his father quite early , and Idia lost Ortho.
Basically this family line is riddled with death....and also it doesn't really matter who they bring into it, the Shrouds always look like clones of themselves (As in, Mr. Shroud's biological father was a redhead, but Mr Shroud only inherited visual traits from his mother. The only thing the child can inherit from their non cursed parent is personality, for example Ortho is very similar to his mom in terms of personality.)
