vvvvv Book/Chapter 7 & 7.5 Spoiler vvvvv
THIS IS CRIMINALLLL 😭😭
So nice to have Diasomnia sleeping over 🥰
I leave the TWST fandom for a month AND SUDDENLY WE ARE IN A MALLEYUU ROOMATES ARC??! SOMEONE EXPLAIN
TWST SPOILERS for 7.5!
Did they ever explain who posted the information that Silver was a long lost prince and how they knew? The only ones who were present in the dream were Silver, Yuu, Grim, and Sebek along with Malleus and Lilia and I doubt they would have spread the news. (5 out of 6 wouldn't know how.) So, who and why did so? And how did they find out?
Well, regardless, I doubt they'll be any ramifications for this, but wouldn't that be interesting to explore?
Even on the loose chance Malefica forgave Silver for his father's sins, what about the other fae who the Silver Owls harmed? I doubt everyone would easily forgive, especially the senate. And how will this affect affect Lilia's standing?
Can you imagine being one of Lilia's soldiers and learning that your trusted general had been raising the son of their hated enemy the entire time? And the only reason that the senate wouldn't go after him is because Malleus literally needs him to safely use magic now. But still, public opinion would be mixed at best. Hell, for political reasons Silver may not be allowed to be Malleus' knight. Yes, Malleus would fight for the boy but he still has a standing to think of, one that would have been shaky after his over blotting.
Over all, a lot of interesting plots... angst writes, to Ao3!
Alice is rarely terrified. Other than her thalassophobia (deep water/drowning).
Alice is built to survive a majority of hazards.
With the recent update of chapter 7.5, it was expressed how frightening or intimidating Queen Maleficia is.
If and when Alice meets the Queen of Briar Valley, she would feel it.
And would absolutely LOVE IT!
She would have to fight the urge to cause mischief to upset her. 🤩
wait WAIT
Wym wym book 7.5?!?! Hello?!
So, about Silver's diagnosis,
It's nice to finally know exactly what it is, and it's confirmation that it is no one's fault he's still like this. TWST has already set up that too much magic can be bad for humans.
And Silver, who had been sleeping for 400 years as a vulnerable human baby, obviously would remain affected even after Lilia met the conditions of his spell and woke him up. Just the fact that he's even awake now and has been able to grow up is proof the spell is broken...BUT, the spell was so strong, lasted so long, and Silver was so little, that Silver and the spell may just be inseparable at this point.
Silver does think he's doing better, and I believe that his symptoms could be improving, but he inevitably slept through class all the way to the end of the school day and needed to be woken up by his peers. It's clear that this is probably something he will have to live with forever, but now that he knows why, he might finally stop blaming himself for things outside of his control.
I view him getting his diagnosis and improving as similar to a disabled person finally being diagnosed and being medicated. The medication and new coping techniques help, but the disability is still something you have to live with. It's frustrating, exhausting, and makes life so much harder BUT, people with disabilities are strong, resilient and find ways to survive despite it all.
Alternatively, Silver was asleep for 400 years. He's only been awake for 18 years, and even then, he still sleeps more frequently than most people his age.
Silver will never live as long awake as he did asleep. There's no way he, as a human free from a sleep spell, can live as long as he did while he was sleeping.
His body may just be used to being asleep and wants to be asleep again because that's what he's accustomed to. His signature spell is also connected to his sleep, which could come back to the forefront sometime later in the story.
I refer to this as Silver's 'curse' because in Twisted Wonderland, curses and blessings are the same thing, just categorized by the effects. Silver's sleep spell was always meant to be a blessing and saved his life, it only functions as a curse now because he now struggles to stay awake and it makes life harder for him.
He's not in any danger per se (Though there's always the scary chance it could put him in danger), but it's still something he struggles with. Curses don't always have to be malicious; at least for Silver, it's akin to a disability, and I really look forward to possibly seeing it be treated and accepted as such in the future.
Either way, very glad it's revealed that it isn't Silver nor Lilia's fault he's like this. This is just the cost of surviving longer than possible for any human, and hopefully with this knowledge known, Silver can finally receive better accommodations at school.
