Like they could be just walking in the halls and hear “___!” And then right after get tackled into a hug IMMEDIATELY😭

Riddle - He's flustered the first time it happens. The first thing he hears is his name and although he would never admit out loud, Riddle would've recognized their voice instantly and just the sound of it brought about a fuzzy feeling in him, but before he could even turn around in time to face them, the abrupt impact of their body hurdling into his nearly has him screaming.

Riddle's face is red, a snarl already on his lips, there's a familiar build up in his throat ready to burst—that is,until he feels arms wrapped around his body.

"I caught you!" Yuu's voice cuts through his temper much like a musical instrument which goes off on a different note than the rest, but there's a cheer to it that has him catching his breath and just the close proximity of them alone —the very terrifying yet heart-throbbing realization that they're not the least put off by him—has him more confused than enraged.

"Yuu...!" He huffs out, breathless and disoriented but his eyes are on them instantly,flashing with an uncertain but endeared intensity.

Trey - Oh,he secretly loves it. In fact, after the first few times the surprise is probably feigned and Trey is more expectant of this little ambush than he should be. Cater calls it a potential kink. Trey doesn't really deny it but it feels more like it reminds him to relax and look forward to some fun things too. He especially loves it whenever it's just Yuu rushing up towards him with their arms wide open.

"Trey~! Trey~!!" The familiar sound of their footsteps makes Trey smile and a breathless sort of laugh leaves him when Yuu practically crashes into him.

"Woah,there!" He says,winded but pleased. The easy way in which his arms wrap around Yuu is telling enough for everyone else and it's comedic how it's Yuu themselves who don't seem to notice the dancing light in Trey's eyes or how his grip will always tighten just slightly before they pull away from him.

Kalim - You can bet this one will just rush up towards Yuu himself after the first few times he's tackled into a hug by them. It's become like a personal game for him and Yuu who will immediately lock in their targets the moment they see each other.

"Yuuuuu!!"

"Kaaalimmmmmm!!!"

The excited yells are then followed by the sounds of their bodies crashing into one another,followed then by a fit of laughter.

Jamil - He manifests a sort of sixth sense solely to avoid this. The first time he was brutally embraced was also the last time Yuu was able to do so without needing to put in some extra work. Now, if they really wanted to be able to take him by surprise they'd really have to up their game.

Which they did. Quite unfortunate for Jamil. There are still days when they manage to drape their arms around him and haul him into an all too friendly chokehold embrace but for the most part, Jamil is pretty successful in his avoidant reaction. Though,that only makes Yuu even more determined.

Azul - Great Sevens. Were they a child? Azul is flustered but also visibly exasperated. The act seems childish to him and he will make this remark as often as they do it to him but secretly he enjoys it. Yuu's inability to be wary with him has always been one of their charms.

"Azul! Azul!" The cheering of his name has him stiffening, body instinctively bracing itself for the impact and when it finally comes,it's almost embarrassing how pleasant the actual thing is.

Jade - Oh. He finds it very endearing, and very, very, appealing to his less... desirable traits as Azul once described them. He never makes it anything more than it actually is but Jade would admit he does look forward to it happening. It makes him giddy.

He especially enjoys it when after they rush up and hug him, they nuzzle their forehead into his chest and giggle oh so blissfully. It has Jade grinning.

Floyd - "Aha, shrimpyyyyyy, whatcha tryna do, huh? You're tryin' to get me to play with ya?" The laugh that leaves him the moment he has them locked in his arms should be considered dangerous, especially given how his eyes are practically beaming slits of amusement.

Floyd never gets bored with this. Even when he can tell where they'll be coming from. He finds it so thrilling that this person he could so easily crush just enjoys rushing up to him.

Leona - "Herbivore,I swear you're—" whatever it is he wanted to say, it always gets cut off because Yuu is not in the least intimidated by him. You'd think since he spends most of his time napping away somewhere that it would be easy to catch him off guard but Leona is quite hard to ambush.

Yuu has learned this on multiple occasions but they still refuse to give it up. Eventually,Leona just lets them have the win. He'd be walking to class or simply wandering around to find a place to lay down and there'd be no surprise when his ears twitched at the familiar sounds of footsteps approaching him. He doesn't stop walking though. But there's a hint of tension in his shoulders and his pace does pick up, because in all honesty no matter the amount of times Yuu forces him into a hug, the intimacy of it still feels foreign to him.

Ruggie - He's annoyed at first. Not only does it make him feel challenged because of how easily Yuu manages to ambush and tackle him into an embrace despite being a regular human, but it's also downright embarrassing.

The only time he's ever allowed anyone to hang off of him is when he's back in the slums where the younger kids clamber up and over him. It's simply too familiar for him and Ruggie has an image he has to keep so so it doesn't really help that whenever Yuu does this, he can't help but find himself getting nostalgic over it.

"Hey, quit climbing me like some kind of monkey!" He tries to play it cool but it's sorta hard when Yuu giggles and gushes over his reprimands.

Vil - "Excuse me, but I hope you're aware of the consequences of your actions,Yuu. If you have so much energy to spend ambushing people, I have much better exercises for you to do." Deep down, Vil probably likes it but his way of showing affection often feels like a reprimand more than anything.

He's impressed by how precise Yuu is with their timing but a little less so with how uncouth their embraces are. It's a little rough around the edges but Vil understands it's also how they show affection so instead of stopping it completely, he'd probably try to shape it up more.

Rook - Prepare to get hunted back Rook enjoys it a lot actually. He's probably one of the few who finds it extremely forthcoming and returns in with a hug of his own and more stalking He definitely knows where Yuu is coming from and can easily pinpoint their exact location, but he still lets them catch him because of the satisfied,giddy look they have when they do makes his knees weak. He needs to see more of it, it's like the gates to heaven.

Malleus - Amused and painfully delighted. He didn't think anyone other than Lilia (And Sebek,maybe) would have the urge to hug him but when Yuu first does it, it sorta rewires a part of his logic.

He'd definitely start treating it like a necessity more than anything, visibly being upset if and when Yuu fails to fill his abrupt hug quota for the day. He wouldn't voice it out though but if Yuu ever feels like they're being watched,it's because he's probably lurking nearby, wondering what could ever make them forget to bulldoze him with their affections.

Lilia - "My,my, are you sure this is a wise habit to get into?" He finds it amusing and would probably find ways to make it harder for Yuu but he enjoys the mischief behind it and likes that they can still be so playful even with him.

Idia - Yuu is basically his worst nightmare now. The first time it happens Idia is a muttering, stuttering fool. He can't believe that just happened to him because doesn't that kind of thing happen exclusively in fiction?!?! AND TOWARDS THE MAIN CHARACTER??

YOU CAN TELL FLOYD IS PISSED OFF. at what? you couldn't say, it was a mix of probably azul scolding him for the fifth time today or the fact he lost a bet with ace when playing basketball and is on the verge of squeezing' the living soul out of someone who dares to even breathe near him.

you found him laid face-down on YOUR bed when you entered ramshackle, his arms wrapped around your pillows and his face buried in the cases that were covered in snot and stain tears.

was he, crying ?

well, not at this exact moment―it was a lot of muffled groans and screams when would kick his legs on the mattress to make it bounce, the floor board's creaked.

his fingers grip the pillow at the sound of the old door closing, your knapsack falling to the floor as your clicked heel taps against the floor when you make your way to him.

" floyd ? "

your voice came out more like a whisper, loud enough to get a reaction out of him, which wasn't much. he let out a muffled groan, fast and annoyed―you knew this wasn't going to be easy.

you stopped a few steps away from the bed, his school jacket tossed by your feet, messy and fully forgotten. his vest u buttoned and white dress shirt wrinkly.

with your hand on your hips, your tongue pushing against your inner cheek you looked around the room for the one thing you've kept for moments such like these.

your eyes scanned your room until you found it, a happy smile forms on your lips as you excitedly jog to grab a stuffed animal you've owned for a while while living here.

twisted wonderland fairs sure had a ton of options for cute, fluffy animals. but thankfully, being in a relationship with floyd meant a certain shrimp plush meant the entire world to him

he must have been in such a bad mood, he didn't even see it lurking in the corner of your room to cry into.

with the plush in hand, you slowly walked back to floyds figure―a soft and gentle hand reaches to pat the back of his hair, your fingers playing with his teal colored locks as you whispered, " floyd~ look what i have ! " with a small smile on your lips.

the boy mumbles in the pillow, something incoherent, yet he still turns his head to peak over at you―his multi-colored eyes land on the shrimp plush in your hands, gesturing him to take him with a small wiggle.

" take this little guy, squeeze the daylights out of him, not my pillo-OOWAAH― "

with a sudden tug on your arms, you find yourself dragged into floyd's chest and held tightly, your shrimp plush resting on your back with floyd's hands squeezing it every now and then.

he drops his face into the crook of your neck and lets his hair drape over your skin, tickling you gently. you didn't fight back, you just let him hold you for as long as he needed to.

the room fell into a comfortable silence, the only time floyd spoke was when he was telling you how much he loves you and how sorry he is for being such a hassle to deal with, something along those lines.

you just kiss his temple and play with the ends of his hair, fingers curling against the locks as you hummed softly, reminding him how much you love him, no matter how he acts.

Synopsis: The tweels with someone who bites affectionately

AN: Thanks for the request! As a huge personal fan of biting (and the tweels) this was a fun one to write. Hope you enjoy it.

Jade

- Being a moray, he understands the fascination with biting. The act of sinking one’s teeth into the flesh of another, for a purpose outside of nourishment and consumption, is one of trust. Especially for one such as him, who has sharper teeth, it’s an understanding that anyone allowing him to bite them would trust that he would not harm them, or bite hard enough to break skin, which he quite easily could. So despite the fact that your teeth are not sharp, he still feels that by allowing you to bite him, he’s showcasing a level of trust he holds in you.

- It was a strange habit of yours, though not one he found as odd as the average person. He noticed, though barely, your occasional nibbles at his skin when you were both alone. He found it adorable, though didn’t pay it much mind.

- Once you both were together, your biting increased in frequency, going from small nibbles to full-mouthed bites, platonic restraint lifted. Whenever he found himself distracted, he’d notice you gnawing at his arm, like a dog with a bone. Once, when you were both on a hike outside, he’d stopped to explain the various properties of a mushroom to you when you’d suddenly bit at his cheek, the sharp sting causing him to fumble his words. When questioned you simply shrugged, saying he just looked too cute to resist.

- Jade started to notice more and more bites on him as time went on. Before a shower he’d glance into the mirror with a smile, eyes glossing over the various lasting indents of your teeth along his skin, like the marks of a possessive mate.

- He understood, then, why it was you felt this craving. Love was a hunger, a craving to be satiated like any other. To some, it came as a soft flow, like the spring breeze blowing petals into the wind and onto a flowing stream. But to others, it was an insatiable desire to become one, to gorge into the flesh, to become one with a lover. To crack open their ribs and climb inside, a warm, yet wet cocoon of the scent and taste of the person you love.

- He’d start to bite you back, a quick, light press of his teeth to your shoulder or neck when you lay together. A return of the favour, a mutual acknowledgement of the trust and love you both held for each other, and a mark of his presence on you.

Floyd

- Floyd’s a touchy man. Like his brother, he understands the fascination with biting outside of consumption, but instead of an act of trust, he views it as more of an act of affection. Like a pet, begging for attention, pressing the ends of its sharp teeth into the arm or leg of one they wish would turn to them, not hard enough to hurt, but hard enough to notice.

- Your nibbles and bites along his skin before the two of you start dating don’t go unnoticed because Floyd doesn’t care, or doesn’t gaze intently at every slight movement you do. It’s because he’s far too preoccupied biting you himself. Your nibbles on his hand when you both lie alone outside in the fields is but an insignificant act in comparison to the large chomps the moray takes off your shoulder from behind, or your arm when you’re too preoccupied studying.

- Once you’re both together, and your confidence grows enough to bite him harder and more frequently, Floyd is ecstatic to find you share his affectionate habit. Your gnaws on his arm for attention send a giddy flutter through his chest, and your nibbles on his cheek when he hugs you from behind make him laugh, soft giggle escaping his lips as he nuzzles your neck.

- He loves it when you sneak up behind him and bite him. It’s hard to sneak up on Floyd, but when you do, and sink your teeth into the muscly flesh of his bicep, he lets out a yelp, tackling you to the floor playfully and biting you back.

- Like Jade, Floyd is deeply possessive, and so the act of marking that comes with biting one’s partner allures him deeply. He has you all to himself, yes, but the world should know that. They should know you’re all his, and that no one else can get anywhere near you. Floyd’s sharp teeth dig deep indents into your arms and neck, and despite your protests, he’ll be sure to bite you in a visible place at least once. He encourages you to mark him back, proudly wearing your claim like a puppy’s collar.

Cuddling with Floyd is one of the best ways to make your day or night feel better. He holds you like you're his most precious (you most definitely are ꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖♡) and he tends to make sure you're feeling comfortable before resting his face against your neck which usually makes you giggle because his breath tickles you. Also, he brings your favourite snacks (he always has them stored for your hangouts in his dorm) and watches random movies with you while cracking jokes and trying to make you laugh because he doesn't like seeing you so stressed.

Trust me, Floyd might be very mischievous, but he knows when his darling needs him.

Jade! Azul!

Floyd was confident no one would dare take his pelt. It was easy to steal a selkie’s pelt when it was left unattended (like Jade’s) or hidden (like Azul’s). Floyd always knew where his was - always, always, on his person.

When he had to go to the surface to attend NRC, their father gave him two pieces of advice. One, always pay attention to your footwear. And two, always keep your pelt with you. Whether it’s in your bag, over your shoulders, or under your clothes.

People expected Floyd to be more lax with his skin, but he took the advice to heart more than Jade, who liked showing it off tantalizingly to those grubby landers. So, Floyd’s pelt was always under his clothes. He hated the feeling of extra layers, but he hated being parted with the pelt even more. The very thought of being taken away from the ocean made his human skin crawl.

Imagine his panic when he couldn’t find it once he returned to his dorm after club practice.

He’d tied the pelt securely underneath his basketball jersey, and practice went off without a hitch. He was fired up that day too. He’d won points left and right, and left the gym feeling great. Up until he realized his pelt was no longer snugly tied to his torso, and his heart dropped. He’d passed through the gym, the entire school, the mirror chamber, and through the Lounge up to his dorm. He could’ve lost it anywhere. To anyone.

Jade opened their dorm door to see Floyd flinging things around their room, and launching himself to Jade’s side to dig through his things. “What in the Seven’s are you doing, Floyd?” He didn’t even need to a response when Floyd turned to him with sheer panic on his face. Jade felt his throat tighten. Floyd lost his pelt.

Meanwhile, you stared at the… cloth? in front of you. Earlier today, you’d stopped by the gym while running errands for Crowley. As you made your way across, you noticed a teal heap amidst the basketballs. You knelt, curious, and picked it up. Wait, isn’t this what Jade and Floyd wear?

You didn’t really know what it was, only that it seemed special to them. You never wanted to be rude and ask him about it though, since you figured Floyd had his reasons for hiding it, while Jade has his own for flaunting it.

That thing was massive. You didn’t even see a zipper on it, so it couldn’t be a jacket. Not to mention, it felt kind of… leathery, almost. Like fish skin or something.

When you got to Ramshackle, you folded it neatly before tucking it in a spare shoebox you had. It had a few jewelry pieces in it with shells and pearls. You also chucked a shoe polish in, as well as some funky patterned socks you didn’t want. You decided to leave them in, tucked under the cloth. Maybe Floyd would like them.

The next day, you walked into Mostro Lounge with the box. You overheard some students freaking out, whispering about Floyd being in one of his moods, but this time it was even worse.

You frowned, suddenly nervous. Floyd’s freaking out? Why? You clutched the box a bit tighter. Was it because of the cloth?

In Azul’s office, Floyd was damn near about to blow the whole dorm up. It took Jade wrestling him down and Azul placating him, to get him to calm down just a fraction.

Even now, Jade had to keep watchful eye on him while Azul had a million contracts on his desk, hair wild from running his hands through it. Currently, Floyd was staring listlessly at the wall, bouncing his leg wildly. Who could have possibly been brazen enough to take Floyd’s pelt…? Jade and Azul had an understanding. They’d make them pay for this.

You overheard someone say Floyd was in Azul’s office, so you knocked on the door. “Hey, is Floyd in there?” You called, walking in. Jade glanced at Floyd, who seemed to at least compose himself in front of you. How interesting.

You stopped in front of Floyd, who looked up at you from the couch. He looked up at you, irritated. You cleared your throat, presenting the box to him. “I found your… belongings so I thought I’d give it back to you. It was in the gym, I figured you didn’t want to lose it.”

Floyd’s eyes zeroed in on the box, sensing the pelt, and he grabbed it from you. He nearly tore the top off, but at last he had his pelt back. He almost tore his uniform off then and there to feel it against his skin when he suddenly stopped.

You gave it back to him. You, gave it back to him. You gave it back.

Jade and Azul stared wide eyed at you and Floyd. You cleared your throat uncomfortably, “I also put some extra stuff in the box too, if you want it.”

Floyd lifted the skin a bit, and his eyes went wide. Glittering jewelry, shells, and pearls nestled in the folds of the pelt. He could hear his heartbeat in his ears, and Jade and Azul gasped.

“Oho?” Jade said, grinning slowly. “Oho?” Azul looked shocked. Floyd lifted the pelt out, and more jewelry fell out between the folds. Jade lifted his hand to his mouth, looking sly, “how forward of you, (Name). And in front of us, too.” Azul rose an eyebrow, pleased, “I must say, I didn’t expect you to be the pelt thief. What an interesting development.”

Floyd was quiet, staring at everything in shock. He didn’t expect this from you, Shrimpy. You always were able to surprise him, but this took the bait. It was like everything started to make sense.

You had to know what you’d done. You gave Floyd jewelry, something merfolk did when they wanted to show affection. Not only that, you gave him things directly related to his interests. He eyed the shoe polish with interest, grinning widely. This was textbook courting rituals.

“Ne, shrimpy really is the best~” He stood, mood completely changed. You shrank back a bit as he leered over you. As he gazed into your eyes, you felt the acute sense that you just did something big.

“Don’t you worry Shrimpy, I’m gonna repay you back real good~” Floyd winked at you. You smiled nervously, conscious of the others’ smirks, “I-I should go.” You scurried out of Azul’s office, hearing Floyd’s raucous laughter echo behind you.

Floyd’s kinda weird today, you thought. You didn’t particularly mind it, though. Although dealing with Azul and Jade was a doozy.

Azul ran into you earlier, although you weren’t sure it was on accident. He’d hummed cryptically, with that sneaky businessman smirk he had when he knew something you didn’t. “I must say, it was incredibly forward of you to present Floyd’s pelt, especially with extra gifts. He was energetic all night, he hardly did any Lounge work,” Azul’s words somehow held little annoyance. Confusion filled you. His ‘pelt’? And the jewelry and shoe polish? Was it a big deal?

Azul continued, “You should find Jade later. He will want to speak to you, especially to go over your plans.” Your brow furrowed, echoing “plans?” Azul nodded, amused. “It’s more informal, since we’ve known you before. Just to discuss matters - the timing, ideal circumstance, your intentions, so forth.” He’d walked off before you could ask more. Your head swam.

You hadn’t been able to properly speak to Jade. He was all cordial smiles and, surprisingly, bowed to you multiple times. An amused smile graced his face, and he seemed to revel in your alarm. He’d brush past you just before you could ask him anything, and was always replaced by Floyd bounding up to you and taking you into his arms in giggles.

Ever since you gave him the box, Floyd was strangely clingy. His constant hugging and nuzzling you was borderline affectionate, and it made your heart stutter and stomach feel fluttery. You noted that he was wearing the jewelry you stuck in the box, next to the pelt peeking out of his shirt.

“Hey, (Name),” he said while leaning against you. You were both in the library. Floyd insisted on accompanying you everywhere, and seemed to be exhausted with how much he was yawning at you. “We should go swimmin,’ I’m bored here.”

You sighed, shutting your notebook. “I have work to do, Floyd.” You spied a couch nearby, “you could take a nap maybe, if you’re tired?” Floyd looked you up and down, before grinning. “Nah.”

He tossed you over his shoulder, and you shouted, making the ghost librarians shush you loudly. “Floyd!” He laughed and ran out before the ghosts could catch him.

He ran you all the way to the back of Mostro Lounge by the private fish tanks, where the tanks for the merfolk were. Finally he put you down, still cuddling you as the blue light from the waters washed over you.

Seeing the tanks, you suddenly remembered Azul talking about a pelt. Your mind flashed to the cloth you picked up from the gym. The skin-like texture. Floyd’s moodiness. The secrecy. You’d heard the word ‘Selkie’ being thrown around before, and you knew Floyd was a mer. The thought hid you like a truck - if the pelt belonged to Floyd, then was he a Selkie? Your heart pounded. And you gave the pelt back to him.

Jade walked in, holding a drink and potion in hand. “Ah, Floyd, you’re back.” Floyd grinned at him, shaking you side to side in his arms, “hey Jade~ me n’ Shrimpy are going to take a swim!” Jade smiled pleasantly, gaze locking onto you. “Could I have a moment with (name), please? It should only take a minute.”

Floyd pouted, but Jade gave him a look. Finally, let you go with a little sulk, but not before giving you a final squeeze. “I’ma be back, Shrimpy!~ Don’t go anywhere!” He flounced off, leaving you with Jade.

Jade handed you the drink and potion. “This is on the house, and this is an underwater breathing potion. I thought you may need one,” he said cryptically. You smiled warily at him, and you dumped the potion into the drink to mix it.

Jade sighed happily. “Mother and Father will be so thrilled.” You sipped your drink, throat feeling dry. “What do you mean?”

Jade continued as if he didn’t hear you, “please be gentle to Floyd. He’s never done this before, but I’ve never seen him so besotted with anything before.” Jade suddenly became serious, looking you in the eye. “You will not hurt him. And you won’t need to worry about him. I assure you, our parents took our lessons quite seriously where courting was concerned. He was always the one to wear his heart on his fins, so to speak. He’s quite romantic at heart, really.”

You nearly choked. “C-courting?!” Jade nodded, slowly grinning mischievously. “Of course. You made your intentions quite clear when you gave Floyd back his pelt. With some lovely courting gifts, no less.” Jade looked fondly at you, patting your shoulder. “You will be a welcome part of the family.
