• He doesn't quite see the appeal of a coffin as a bed; Vil prefers a room with blackout curtains made from heavy silk, high ceilings and a chandelier studded with small, pretty jewels filled with magic which makes it glimmer like stars whenever it's lit. He has multiple incense sticks in all his favorite scents and alternates between them depending on his mood. When he burns them, Vil finds a quiet pleasure in watching the smoke rise up and languidly fill the space of his room.
• His bed is meant for two; A personal space he doesn't like sharing, and he does actually have a personalized coffin but only because he has a peculiar Human companion who finds comfort in sleeping in it with him on nights they come to stay over. It flusters them but it's both an endearment and amusement for Vil, who enjoys watching them squirm before he takes them in his arms and they fall into a steady pattern of chattering away their time.
• For feedings,he prefers having a partner for it. Handpicked of course, because Vil has gone through enough years to know that a Vampire should never trust another when it comes to the blood they drink. They don't stay forever though, these feeding partners. Vil makes a point to always make it a contracted relationship. It's meticulous and unromantic, deliberately so, that is until Yuu comes along and entwines their way into his life. But by now, they're not merely a source of food for Vil but a part of his life too.
• He's moody during the day. It's completely unintentional and he keeps himself in check immensely well but it does show in the ways he's easily upset when Yuu misses a visit or is late for one. He understands that as a courier that it would demand a hefty amount of their time, but the hours of daylight affects Vampires differently. Much like how the phases of the moon makes some Shifters a little stir crazy.
• "My love," he coos when they finally arrive after what feels like almost half the day already. "Where did you go today?" And Yuu, smiling gently down at him would recount their journey. They'd let him wrap his arms around their waist and nuzzle his nose into the crook of their neck as they return his affection with their own. Vil asks if they've eaten and tells them he's drawn up a nice, warm bath and fresh new clothes. He goes, "Your hair looks like it needs a proper wash", with long, nimble fingers which sift through their locks. He grimaces and Yuu laughs and Vil goes, "Did I say something funny?" As he feigns offense and before Yuu can answer he's smiling down at them.
"Tell me you miss me." He says rather tenderly despite it being a demand. Vil was always a demanding sort, yes, but it didn't mean it often came with entitlement,at least not with his Yuu. Never with them.
• His coffin is placed upright, held in place by a wooden frame that has vines and moss growing in all its nooks and crannies. On some days there are white flowers and Rook likes watching them even as time makes them wilt eventually. His manor is in the forest, atop a hill, a little way back from his family's. He doesn't live with them anymore but he knows they are aware he is close by. Rook's bedroom is on the ground floor and is the room closest to the garden which he adores because the plants there are breathtaking and the Gardener who tends to them has Rook daydreaming.
• During the Daylight hours, he spends his time watching the servants in his home as they go about their day. He likes carrying around the enchanted umbrella which allows him to be in the sun without any harm for a few hours before he has to return indoors and during those moments,he's with Yuu the Gardener. He enjoys talking to them and enquiring about their tasks. He can tell they're wary of him but Rook finds it difficult to stay away,so he hopes, eventually, they would not mind. It is a selfish thought; they're working for him after all, it is mostly a duty-bound obligation on their end.
• "What do you think of me,I wonder." Rook says one day as he watches them work from underneath his umbrella, a small yet knowing smile on his lips when he finds them growing stiff from the question.
"What about you should I wonder about?" Yuu says, plainly. Their hands are calloused but oh so gentle whenever they handle the plants and flowers . They don't turn to him when they answer and Rook finds himself all the more smitten.
He goes; "A question with a question. Oh,you must be such a heartbreaker. I feel more inclined to bother you."
"Who says you bother me?"
Ah..that makes Rook blink. Twice. Thrice. The fourth time he does, Yuu is done with their work and lifts their gaze to him.
"I don't think you're a bother." They say, and it's almost coy,if not achingly earnest. Rook realizes he doesn't know how to respond. So, he laughs, chest and stomach fluttering. Perhaps,he has misread them. The thought pleases him.
• He feeds on animals. He hunts. It is a very intimate and gruesome thing, but it is also a part of him. It took a long while for him to accept that, but once he did, Rook knows he does not mean the animals harm. It would just be a little drink, enough to keep him sated. He rarely indulges even when he wants to. He does his best to be gentle with them, before and after. He makes sure he doesn't go too long without feeding. Human blood upsets him but he does crave it from time to time. On some days when he's semi asleep in his coffin and the sun is beaming outside,he wonders what Yuu would taste like and is surprised to discover he doesn't mean their blood.
