Our mc has fallen asleep at some point after searching for Grim(who has gone missing after the events of the last chapter)
As usual, mc has a dream of the disney kind, this time about Hercules' birth - since this chapter pertains to Idia and Ortho who're inspired by Hades.
Anyways, mc is woken up by Ace, and we find out that mc had called Ace and Deuce for help after Grim went missing. They were surprised at being called so late at night but came anyways(best boys). Soon they notice the wound on mc's hand and helps them get treated, and decided to call Crowley soon after.
Crowley appears and takes stock of the situation, and mc even explains about the mirror and 'Mickey', but he doesn't comment on it just yet. The focus moves to Grim, and mc explains that he hurt them just to eat the black rock. Ace remembers it from the time at the dwarf mines, and Deuce also remembers Grim eating the same after Riddle's overblot as well. However, neither of those times had Grim acted so strangely. They ask what exactly this rock is, and Crowley says it's probably a 'blot crystal'.
The episode ends here

Episode starts with Epel shouting that he doesn’t want the money. Vil explains that they can consider it as a fee for the harsh 1-month training they had to endure, as well as for other costs incurred.
Vil felt it was ironic how, despite having told his manager in the past to not buy his feelings with money, this was the only way he could think of to repay the team. Regardless, he wanted them to accept the money, because he didn’t feel like he could move forward otherwise.
Everyone is quiet for a while, before Kalim cheerfully pipes up, saying he’ll accept the money. Everyone else is surprised, but Kalim quickly adds that he doesn’t think Vil is to blame at all, but understands that this is Vil’s way of settling this situation, so he wants to accept it for his sake. Oh, but he won’t keep the money for himself either, he’s decided to donate it all to the Ramshackle Dorm! Everyone flips out again, and Jamil asks if he’s been influenced by Neige’s story. Kalim is like no...? yes? maybe...? That’s not the point! After staying at the Ramshackle dorm for the training camp, Kalim came to understand something clearly.... that it was busted as hell!
Mc(option 1): Wow, you didn’t have to put it like that...
Mc(option 2): Trust me, this is much better than it used to be...
Sometimes there’s no hot water in the shower, the roof leaks, there’s a draft coming from who knows where... This is the first time he’s lived in such conditions! It ain’t called Ramshackle for nothing! After hearing that, Jamil couldn’t help but agree as well lmao.
Kalim was taken care of by mc and the ghosts living there, and more than that, he really enjoyed his stay there! So as thanks, we wants to give them the money so they can renovate the place. His cut of the money is his to do with whatever right?
Rook says that Kalim has a heart of gold, befitting the nickname given to him (Roi d’Or). Jamil says that he cannot deny his master’s goodwill, so he’ll accept and donate his share as well. Money was not their motivation in the first place, it was more of a bonus.
Epel says that despite betting that he could win against Neige’s cuteness, it didn’t work out in the end, so he doesn’t feel like he deserves the money. However, he also painfully understands what Vil is feeling, and decides to accept the money anyways, and also donates it to the Ramshackle dorm. Epel tells mc to fix the place so they can welcome Grim home happily next time. Mc can either respond gratefully or feel conflicted about accepting so much money.
Ace goes ehhhhhhh are you guys being real right now? And Deuce looks conflicted as well, because he feels the money would improve his situation back at home(sweet boy) but isn’t sure he should accept it now. Ace says he has no intention of giving away the money, he worked super hard for it, he’d like some new shoes or clothes at this point, right? Deuce still looks conflicted, and Ace tells him to knock off the good boy act. In the first place, the two of them participated in the competition for the prize money, what’s the point of holding back now?
Vil also joins in, telling Deuce that he shouldn’t feel pressured to donate just because the others are. He’s offering the prize money because that is precisely the point he used to try and recruit people for the dance team. Though he knows this won’t erase his past actions, this is the most sincere way he can make up for it at this moment. They saved his life, so Deuce should accept the money with pride. Deuce takes a moment to compose himself, before thanking Vil in a loud voice. Vil just smiles as he asks if he even listened to what he said; this is not something he needs to be thanked for.
Rook also says he’s donating his share to the Ramshackle Dorm, saying that the time they spent together was more than enough for his fill. Anything mroe would simply be too much. Kalim sounds excited, saying that with all this money, there’s a lot of stuff they can repair now!
The leaks should of course be fixed, but he feels that the wallpapers and curtains need to be replaced too! Even the sofa’s cloth should be changed, everything is way to dull right now! Jamil cuts in, saying there should be other priorities, like fixing the water supply, the gasline, and various other improvements to quality of life should be made. He starts to seriously consider what repairs could be made within the budget and Rook laughs, saying that reforming the place should be fun.
Ace says that, while he’s not donating the money to the dorm, he can at least treat mc and grim to a special lunch once they get back together. Deuce adds that he’d get them cafe au lait and dessert too! Mc thanks everyone and says they’re looking forward to it.
The chapter starts with Grim getting electrified and knocked out. Ortho checks his vitals and confirms everything is fine, and reports it to his brother. Idia also confirms everything is alright and tells his brother to return back to the dorm as soon as he’s handed over Grim to Crowley.
Idia says his heart hurts thinking about how the school’s important ‘fluffy’ factor might disappear after they hand Grim over, hoping they only suspend him and not expel him.
The scene moves to the main street again, with Deuce calling out to Grim. Ace shushes him quickly, saying that his loud voice is gonna get them caught; they were ordered to go back to their dorms after all. Besides, if Riddle found them outside the dorm after lights out, it would be ‘off with their heads’ for sure. Deuce then, with a tiny voice, calls out to Grim, saying that he has his favorite tuna cans as well pfft.
Soon a phone chime startles them, turns out it’s mc’s phone, and it’s a call from Crowley. They’re shocked to be informed that the Shroud brothers have already captured and handed over Grim. Crowley sounds relieved that it was solved so quickly, so now there won’t be any issue to the festival and he won’t have to hear any sarcasm from Ambrose- ahem, nothing at all.
He goes on to say that currently, Grim is in no condition to explain the situation at the moment, and that they will interview him when he is able. They’re also considering to call in some special forces from outside the school as well. And so, for the time being, mc is not allowed to see Grim just yet, and he cuts the call.
Hearing that Grim was not in a good condition had the trio worried, and the chapter ends here
Crowley begins to explain about overblotting again, saying that it is a phenomenon that happens when a magic user can no longer contain the 'blots' accumulating within themselves. These 'blots' are a kind of waste that is generated by using magic. It's very toxic and contains stagnant magic within itself. This blotting is what transforms the user into a large incarnation of all their negative emotions.
Ace joins in, saying that to calm a person in that state, they need to do something about that 'incarnation' before trying to separate the user from it. Deuce agrees, since all of the situations they've been in required them to beat the sense back into their senpais.
Crowley confirms this as well, saying that to overcome the overblot state, the magical connection between the incarnation and the use must be severed first. Then he says that apparently there are cases where a condensation of that blot is left behind once the incarnation has disappeared. Magic stones are also made by some reaction or the other with that of the magic that flows underground or in the air. So it's not that surprising for 'blots', which are also made out of magic, to become condensed by some means.
However, Crowley claims to have never seen that actual thing before, because it's supposed to be a 'rare phenomenon'. Mc is understandably in disbelief on that point, because "How many overblots have we seen already after coming here" lmao
Ace looks disturbed now, and tries to confirm his suspicions... Blot is something that is harmful to the body even in small amounts right? And these blot crystals are the condensed version of it... what happens when someone eats not one, but several of those stones? There’s no way that it won’t affect them. Deuce also comes to the realization that Grim must have acted out due to the effects of eating so many blot crystals.
Crowley says that all of this is still speculation, and that although Grim has communicated with us just fine all this time, he is still a monster in the end. The Grim who violently attacked mc might just be his true nature.The festival is still going on, it would be dangerous to leave Grim alone now when he could cause harm to others in his current state.
Deuce butts in, appalled that he’d call Grim as just a ‘monster’. But Crowley claims that he doesn’t want to doubt Grim either, because he ‘believed’ in Grim, and that was why he let him attend NRC in the first place(sus). But depending on his condition, Grim may no longer be allowed in the school. Crowley then says he needs to gather the faculty and the dorm leaders as soon as possible to capture Grim. He turns to leave, telling mc to shut their door tightly, and tells Ace and Deuce to return to their dorm as well. Then in a small voice that the others couldn’t quite hear, he says that ‘they’ will soon arrive as well.
After Crowley leaves, the 3 continue to discuss, wondering if Grim is going to be treated as a dangerous monster to be taken down. Deuce adds that, although Grim can have a nasty and selfish personality, he wouldn’t hurt mc and other students without reason.... at least, that’s what he’d like to believe. Ace chastises him telling him he shouldn’t end his sentence so gloomily...
Ace: Well, he is a monster in the end. If he comes to live amongst humans, and then causes trouble, it would make the news. I can understand where the Headmaster is coming from.
Deuce: A-Ace, you--!
Ace: But in the half year he’s been with mc, they’ve been getting along just fine haven’t they?
Ace: ... and with us, too.
Deuce: ...! Yeah! He fit right in with our other classmates too!
Ace: So, what’re we gonna do? Rather, what do YOU want to do, mc?
Mc(option 1): ...I want to to talk to Grim directly.
Mc(option 2): I don’t want to be separated from Grim in such a manner!
Ace: I knew you’d say that. Welp, guess we gotta go find that dumbass now!
