Darkness Falls has everything that makes an x files episode fantastic: agents in adventure clothing, extremely 90s dialogue in which a scene grinds to a halt so a character can explain what eco-terrorism is, Mulder coming up with scientific theories based on semi-plausible ideas, the slow horror of invasion against which you are effectively helpless, Scully rattling off scientific facts that any other scientist would have probably forgotten from their intro bio class, comically greedy capitalists, bugs,
