there's a question i've had on my mind for a while and i can't settle on an answer so i thought i'd ask your opinion because your views are always on point :

do you think mulder and scully slept with other people while they were broken up? personally, i think it's possible (especially for scully) but i'm really not sure so i'd love to hear different opinions.

this is something i've thought about before, not a lot. i definitely think it makes sense that they would. i don't think it would be anything deep or true connection with some other person. but they do both want companionship and at least on occasion, they will seek it out.

like with 3 & never again. they make a lot of sense to me & i love them immensely. they're wonderful character work. and because of them, i lean toward yes. however, i do think it would look different. it wouldn't be quite as punishing for mulder, and it wouldn't be about rebellion for scully. i think it would still kind of be something that "just happens" to mulder — not in an assault way, but in the way of him not really seeking it out? for scully however, it would still be about her patterns. like what she said in the revival about how she thought they could live together and she fled. for both of them, i think, it would still be wrapped up in guilt. mulder for losing scully, scully for leaving him. i would want them to just have something free of burdens, to maybe help them work through their issues, but idk if they know how to do that at any point. they get better at it with each other as time goes on lol and whenever i think about this, i think about how much they would both hate this for the other person. scully doesn't hold anything that's happened to her against him (and i don't think it's anything to do with why she left), and mulder wants her safe & he thinks away from him is safe, as he's said in different ways before.

33. Favourite season finale? - the only one I really remember is Anasazi so that one?? There was a three-parter at some point (I think it was s6-7 Biogenesis - The Sixth Extinction II: Amor Fati) that honestly left me speechless when I watched, it I liked it a lot if that counts ?!Pls don’t judge if they are actually bad eps I just remember being really swept up by everything and how I was feeling at the time.

11. What is the first episode of the show you ever watched?The pilot. I am a total continuity stickler ( I know, I chose the wrong show!) and having just watched The Fall S1 and unrelatedly booked Streetcar Tickets and having fallen for Stella Gibson I figured ‘d see what else my Blanceh had done. I knew TXF was coming back and had just finished Buffy so I figured when I saw Gillian was involved I’d give it a go. I actually watched the pilot three times before I made it to Ep 2, once I was sleepy, once I was with my sister and time three I think I watched the first 10 eps without stopping!19. If you’d never watched TXF, do you think your life would be significantly, tangibly different today?

Indubitably. Watching the show and becoming involved in the fandom has completely transformed me. On the plus side it got me writing, has brought me new friends, made me more aware of what I want to do and who I want to be and got me travelling.

On the negative, I’ve also experienced/witnessed some of the worst behaviour and mindless cruelty of my life, which while unpleasant has taught me that I can always stand to be kinder, that humility and a willingless to learn are very important to me, that the truth really is out there and will always out and that I can’t please everyone an shouldn’t try. 

It’s been a journey, but one I would not backtrack. even the stupid shit has changed me.

      25. List some season 1 MSR headcanons

When Scully first met Mulder, she was surprised to find him so empirically attractive. All the stories that she’d heard about “Spooky Mulder” made him sound like a weird, reclusive troll. She expected a face to match the rumours. She was so taken off her guard when he spun around in his chair in that basement office. She knew right then and there that she’d have her work cut out for her. How could she debunk, disprove, or disappoint this beautiful, soulful, wounded man when she instinctively felt protective of him from the moment she laid eyes on him?

Mulder & Scully traded house keys circa E.B.E. It was Mulder’s idea. It was an awkward conversation. He tried to downplay the significance of it, blame it on “security reasons” because you know… they were getting really “close to the truth”. Scully kept quiet while he yammered through his rationalization, her eyebrow raised. Her silence made Mulder nervous, but she knew that she was always going to say yes - she just wanted to make him work for it. Summing up his thoughts, he said “Look Scully - you’re the only one I trust. And on our salaries, it’s probably for the best that we don’t break down each other’s doors in an emergency”. She gave him a slight smile, nodding: “I think it’s a good idea, Mulder”. She took his key, and gave him hers the next day at work. They were both elated and felt an intimacy that they hadn’t felt with another person in the longest time. But of course, they didn’t communicate this to each other. And they didn’t trade back keys even when they were split up by the bureau weeks later.

When Mulder called Scully to tell her that The X-Files were closed, she cried for the first time since her father died. She was surprised by her emotional response, and couldn’t figure out whether she was feeling a sense of professional or personal failure. Both options scared her. She didn’t sleep that night.26. When Mulder’s mother died, Scully held him the entire night. Mulder sobbed the entire time.

In Hollywood A.D., Mulder & Scully fucked in every square inch of their LA hotel room.

In Je Souhaite, they only got 20 minutes into Caddyshack before they fucked on Mulder’s couch.

When Scully discovered she was pregnant, she literally had no idea how/when the baby was conceived because of how often her and Mulder had been fucking.27. List some season 9 MSR headcanons

Not MSR but… DOGGETT AND REYES FUCKED!!!

Even though Mulder & Scully were on the run, they were happy and safe and free.

Literally cannot think of anything else in this season, it’s too painful.

27. Tell me about a way TXF gives you strength.

I think both my favourite thing and my biggest frustration when it comes to The X-Files is that it is both exceptional and deeply flawed. For a show about aliens it is incredibly human.

Picture two people of conflicting ideologies forced together, who embark on a journey where nothing is certain. against all reason, by refusing to give up on each other, or their core beliefs as individuals, they repeatedly weather impossible odds. That’s the X-Files... but it’s also life. Maybe there’s no Consortium of evil for most of us but there are endless agonies and disappointments and unexpected alliances and monsters in the dark and to see those things dramatically represented, and to have them fail over and again to make the key characters give up, to see love triumph, even before there is any hint of romance?

That’s so damn life affirming. 

At times it’s melodramatic, silly, heartbreaking, tragic, but it keeps trying, it keeps looking for a way forward, and it fails, GOD does it fail spectacularly, but it still tries to do brave stuff and tell new stories and at the centre of it all Mulder and Scully love each other with the kind of loyal, quiet intensity that we should all hope to find with our friends and family.

This dumb alien show gives me strength by being a complicated, human mess that I find out things about myself in my attempts to untangle, all while being reminded that whatever darkness is out there, there’s light in the people we love.

15. Favorite MSR moments?

When he touches her face in Beyond the Sea. When she wont let go when he’s dying. Detour lost in the forest snuggles. Anything where they laugh and twinkle at each other. Especially Scully’s naughty face at the end of Hollywood AD. Scratchy beard.

25. List some season 1 MSR headcanons.

They fight over tuning the radio on the road and Mulder eventually realises the only way to stop Scully switching classic rock to ANYTHING else is to let her steal whatever junk food he brought and pretend not to notice. He lent her the denim shirt she wears in Deep Throat because her jacket git torn running away from the choppers and she never gave it back. For Mulder’s birthday, Scully filled out all his late expense reports and filed them. For Scully’s birthday, Mulder gave her a handwritten token to skip one of his dramatic slideshows and skip straight to the case. She hasn’t had the heart to cash it. One weekend, after Squeeze, he showed up to her house and tightened all the vent covers and replaced the more open ones with grilles, Neither of them mentioned why. When Scully woke up after Darkness Falls, Mulder was holding her hand. He held it until she was strong enough to sit up on her own and again, they haven’t discussed it since. He wanted to hold her after her dad dies. She would have let him. 

35. Give us your MSR sexy time headcanons

One time, after a lot of wine, Mulder discovered that Scully giggles during sex when she’s completely relaxed and they’re taking their time. She thinks it’s awkward, he thinks it’s adorable, so sometimes he challenges himself to make it happen, partly because he loves seeing her completely happy, but also because the giggling makes her vibrate and clench in a way that really isn’t funny at all…

45. Why did you first start watching The X-Files?

I’d seen The Fall and liked Gillian, I had tickets for Streetcar and figured I’d see where she started. Also I was bored and had heard the revival was coming so figured I’d see what the fuss was about!
