tbh i think the reason jac likes being around adam is because he lowkey gets off on being someone’s play-thing. she’s on her toes all the time, and he’s like a bad drug that even rehab can’t get out of her system, a high that lingers just a little too long. makes her want just a little more. and when he plays the prince, she can see the fairy tale, can taste the champagne and the wine and the air that power would hold. if it were real. if she could pretend that there was a balance she’d be head over heals in love rather than the lonely addict whose picked poison as her drug
i’m also under the distinct impression that adam calls jac jacqueline. and it reverberates in her ribs, caught in the way he says it, because using someones full name implies having power over them moreso than a nickname and it’s just a rush.
