peach, you are indulgent, ty ty, o that is so many. I did already do three, but then I immediately thought of a different answer so shit, we’re doing it again!
3. A song that reminds you of summertime
Monsoon summertime, as opposed to sparkly sunshiney summertime.
4. A song that reminds you of someone you would rather forget about
An ex-friend turned me onto this song; the song’s still good, and she is NOT.
8.A song about drugs or alcohol
(bonus: I grin like an idiot and bop around when singing along to this in the car)
13.One of your favorite 80’s songs
24.A song by a band you wish were still together
Is it cheating to count death as the reason they broke up? Probably. Hm. I’ll go with this, since the ‘revival’ doesn’t count:
come and ask me questions about songs! get some new songs to listen to!
good morning, sunshine! thanks for replying to my submit, btw. okay fic asks 7, 8, 27, 42, 46
(re: these fic writer asks)
good morning, Silver, I hope that it is just the right amount of drizzly for you and the fam today <3 I already answered #27 here but will happily scoot along through the others.
7. early influences on your writing
Ooooh my, let’s see. Jane Austen (for the polite miscommunication), Anne McCaffrey (for UST--Robinton and Lessa, hello), switchknife in the Harry Potter fandom (for various kinky reasons), Jonathan Safran Foer (for LANGUAGE and clever sentence work), Tony Kushner (for laying the mundane alongside the epic), the Sun Magazine (for clear-eyed, diverse, thoughtful prose).
8. what time are you most productive?
Lately it’s been around 8:00 pm to bedtime, but sometimes if I get a day to actually be alone I’m very productive at about one in the afternoon, with the breeze blowing in and the sun shining and the birds cheeping, etc. Unfortunately 99% of the time I have to be either at work or with the people who love me, and that’s not very conducive to writing. (no offense to the people who love me: you’re great, but sometimes my introversion takes over)
42. do you plan or do you write whatever comes to your mind?
You know that thing about “gardeners” or “architects”? I think I’d call myself a landscape architect. With short things, I do just let it all sprawl out and let it go as it will, but with longer things I do try to sketch out a plan. However, too much planning and I feel stifled by it--the whole thing is essentially written, then, and there’s nothing left to discover. I need just the framework laid out, and then the vines of the story can grow out as they will. And heck, maybe that... tree over there has a really lovely branch, and so we’ll need to alter the way the rest of the plan goes because we don’t want to ruthlessly prune that pretty branch back, you know?
46. share a scene of a story that you haven’t published yet
Oh, Silver. Okay. This will be a bit from my J2 AU continuation, since I’m sort of staggering along through it very slowly. Perhaps showing a little snip of it will shove me into finishing. (I think it’s only going to be another 5k words from here, really--if I could just get off my ass I could knock that out in an evening. Let’s see, shall we.)
Sober, Jared’s a better kisser, but not by much. Softcautious presses of lips, like necking in the backseat in high school. Jensentilts his head, licks deftly over his wide lower lip, showing Jared how, andfor a few moments there it’s—good. Quiet, the sound of the copier a few roomsover just barely audible over the soft wet noise of their mouths movingtogether, Jared’s breath and Jensen’s, Jared’s hand curling in just a littletighter around Jensen’s forearm. There’s a touch of warm fingers to Jensen’sjaw, stroking back to his ear, the same spot Jared bruised him all those nightsago. Jensen catches Jared’s wrist, pulls back and turns his face away, says,“Wait—no.” Jared’s mouth is hovering right above his, his breath warm onJensen’s skin. Jensen drags his wits together. “We have to stop.”
“Why,” Jared says, soft, just one syllable but with theTexas thick in it, and sometime when Jensen wasn’t paying attention the longweight of his leg settled in alongside Jensen’s, warm and distracting and good.
Jensen’s still got his hand balled up in Jared’st-shirt. He licks his lips—taste of Jared’s mouth, fuck—and disentangleshimself, breaks Jared’s grip on his wrist and puts both hands on his firm chestand pushes him a step away. When he opens his eyes Jared’s blinking at him, patchy blush all over his cheeks, his lips pinked and damp, his cap tilted upso he looks like a little boy.

14. What do you like most about being in a system?
the ability to just not exist for a while is invaluable to me, I love that I can just nope out and make someone else deal with The Things. I also very much appreciate the heightened ability to compartmentalize, though it certainly is a double edged sword.
