Day 4!!!! For @cold-boy-tapes, pick one artist and assign a song per character. I thought this would be easy. It was not! Put this baby on shuffle and guess the guy it pertains to (some guys more obscure than others).
I tried to capture a good handful of characters from the show in this one, and the songs pertain to canon timeline / canon motivations and such. I also tried to avoid adding headcanons / relationship things / my characterizations in there (as in, backstory and whatnot) and tried to stick to what we see on the screen and my interpretation of that! I also didn't really focus on sound for these. They're all just Muse, so the song's sound doesn't really pertain to the character it's been assigned to.
Anyways, let me know how your guessing goes!!!! I'm really curious about that.

Thoughts:
Take a Bow — Franklin
More so what Franklin represents—England and the Empire—than Franklin himself
Guiding Light — Lady Jane
I know it’s a breakup song but I don’t know, the thought of Lady Jane searching for Franklin and he’s her guiding light is really sweet.
Panic Station — Silna
It was between this and “Pressure” for her. I wanted something that represented a responsibility she could not control being flung upon her.
Exogenesis: Symphony Pt. 3 (Redemption) — Crozier
The piano really worked for him. It’s also so hopeless. Why can’t we start it over again? This time we will get it right. It’s our last chance to forgive ourselves.
Showbiz — Jopson
Trying to please you for too long. Controlling my feelings for too long. I wanted something about the mask he kept up.
Screenager — JFJ
Who’s so phoney and always surrounded? Who you were was so beautiful. For all the holes in our souls host no thrills. You built up this image of yourself only for it to be ruined by the so-called glory you tried to seek.
Kill Or Be Killed — Dundy
And we've tried, oh, we've tried so hard to be good, but the world rewards us when we're bad. I'm growing so cold and detached. Survival over morals.
Big Freeze — Ned
We destroyed something beautiful. I won't let the sun in our hearts decay. Also, it kinda’ sounds like some of the songs on his playlist from Mr. K.
Compliance — Hodge
He tries to stick to the rules of empire until the very end. Also this song is so soothing in a way. Just give yourself up to the corporation. They’ll take care of all your needs. Lose yourself. Become a cog in the machine. Our toy soldier, you'll do the dirty work, stay loyal to us, we'll take away the hurt, etc.
Hoodoo — Jirv
Draw another picture of the life you could've had. Follow your instincts and choose the other path. I have had recurring nightmares that I was loved for who I am and missed the opportunity to be a better man. It just represents so clearly how repressed and terrified he is.
Butterflies & Hurricanes — Gore
Best, you've got to be the best, you've got to change the world. Graham just seems like a guy who molds himself into the perfect little soldier. He adapts and changes for the situation. It’s all he knows. Outside of it, he’s barely human.
Explorers — Goodsir
This song is about climate change. This place is beautiful to me, even now.
The Dark Side (Alternate Reality Version) — Collins
This is the slow depressing version of this song. You'd be scared living with my despair, and if you could feel the things I am able to feel.
Feeling Good — Blanky
Just a simple, good vibes song. It’s an adventure story through the very end for him.
Hexagons — Tozer
Honorable mention, “Liquid State.” I'm a marionette with severed strings. Gorge on my soul while I'm weak and dying. Haunted by futures I can't avoid, a shape immersed through the fog of war. Reach out, touch me, and draw me from the sixth dimension. You have been forcing my hand.
Blind Pilots — E.C. Hickey
This is not Muse. I stuck to doing Muse for this prompt because I absolutely LOVED the idea of putting a song in there that sounded like them but wasn’t. It fit so well. You came along to raise the stakes, to tend to me and my mistakes. I can't pretend that I could be the man you said you saw in me. The wheels have slowly come away, but hang around and I'll try and land this thing. This is a totally toxic relationship where shit is totally fucked up but goddamn it does he care, and goddamn it will he try and fix this shit. Also a relationship song, instead of anything else.
Falling Away with You — Gibson
So I'll love whatever you become and forget the reckless things we've done. I think our lives have just begun. A song about a relationship falling apart. My favorite type of love song. Perfect for hickgib. Also a relationship song, instead of anything else.
Thought Contagion — Golding
You’ve been bitten by someone who's hungrier than you. You've been bitten by a true believer. You've been bitten by someone's false beliefs. I wanted to add more than my usual cast and crew to this playlist, and this song felt fitting for him.
Mercy — CDV
In this context, this song is honestly kinda’ pathetic. Poor thing. Help me, I’ve fallen on the inside, and all the men in cloaks trying to devour my soul. Show me mercy from the powers that be, from the gutless and mean, from the killing machines. Can someone rescue me. Do it yourself, twerp.
Assassin — Armitage
The time has come for you to shoot your leaders down. I do think he stands up for himself. Crozier didn’t work out, he joined Hickey. Hickey didn’t work out, he was going to leave.
Aftermath — Bridgens & Peglar
Love in the time of despair. From this moment you will never be alone. We're bound together, now and forever. The loneliness has gone. The other characters with a relationship song.
Soldier’s Poem — Tarts
This was difficult — I don’t know him that well! But I looked through Mr. K’s playlist for him, and off that playlist, these lyrics describe him well imo: Sick of training myself not to care. It’s up to me to turn on the lights. Life is sad, life is a bust, all you can do is do what you must. So, I wanted a song about someone who kept pushing forward and trying their damndest to make the best of a shit situation. I couldn’t quite find that, but I found this one instead, which I think works nicely—in the end, becoming disillusioned to the regime that let you go here to die. I’m not sure it fits that well, so I might change this out.
Dig Down — Stanley
It’s just kinda’ fucked up to me to give him this song. It’s a calm, determined sort of song about keeping hope in dark times. When hope and love has been lost, and you fall to the ground, you must find a way. Find a way to keep living, the song means. In this context, it’s find a way to save them. Stanley tries to mercy kill them. When the darkness descends, and you're told it's the end, you must find a way.
Muscle Museum — Sophia
Can you see that I am needing, begging for so much more than you could ever give? And I don't want you to adore me, don't want you to ignore me, when it pleases you. And I'll do it on my own. It’s why she left Crozier. She didn’t want an absent husband. She took matters into her own hands.
Endlessly — JCR
Well, I just think. Hopelessly I'll love you endlessly. Hopelessly I'll give you everything, but I won't give you up. I won't let you down. And I won't leave you falling if the moment ever comes. Except that very last line. It changes at the end of the song. I won't leave you falling, but the moment never comes.
The Void — General vibe
This is just one of my favorites. I don’t have any reasons for this one other than I just think it should be on here. They'll say the sun is dying and the fragile can't be saved and the cold, it will devour us and we won't rise up and slay giants.
They’re wrong.
thinking about EDWARD rn lemme give yall my nedward playlist. nothin' fancy for image or description yet coz i don't wanna'
it builds off mr k's list!!!! the lyrics match. really loved how mr k's list felt just like as if ned were someone i knew in college and he'd drive me around places coz i don't drive n that's what he would put on the radio. tried to replicate that feeling (some of these songs r ones my own college friend would put on the radio) + make the lyrics match + make the sound fit the mr k picks + the last four (21–24) r the more personal ones, mr k style. i really think this one builds on the official playlist SO WELL. meant to be listened to in order!
motifs of sinking, drowning, oceans, ships, shipwrecks, and gold in this one! also no overt lovesongs, a lot of references to friends and friendship, and a general feeling of both just how much little loves the world and hates how bad everything's gotten and how angry he is at everything bc he knows how good it can be
enjoy n do lemme know what you think if you take a listen!!!
For @cold-boy-tapes Day 3!!! Meant to be listened to in order.
Wanted to give this a listen through to make sure it flowed, but I have to go to bed for my seven thirty am shift tomorrow, so here it is! I don't know how I end up making two hour long playlists every time, I'm so sorry haha. But yeah, it's basically just songs that give me hella' Arctic vibes as well as ordered specifically that it's the Arctic seen from the eyes of the colonists—terrifying, brutal, 'this place wants us dead'— to the eyes of those who live there—comforting, calm, beautiful, home. So I ended it with the few Inuit songs I know. It's also ordered chronologically — the colonists coming to the Arctic, the ocean that carries them there, to the cold and being stuck, to the walk out, and then death, fading, and the shift to the perspective of those who live there and call it home. And yes, the lyrics fit chronologically, too!
A lot of romanian songs on here as well, and for everything that has lyrics, the lyrics match shockingly well. Songs picked from Mr. K lists, my own original playlist of songs that reminded me of the terror, and a playlist put together for my fitzconte post-rescue longfic that I'm still working on, as well as other places. Enjoy, and ofc if you have any thoughts feel free to let me know!
Playlist Image is Rothko's Untitled, 1969.
Song list under the cut!
polar sirens — David Bickley, David Bickley and Tom Green, Tom Green
Here's a little Hodge commute home playlist for Day 2 of @cold-boy-tapes!! Meant to be listened to in order!! But it also works really nicely if you shuffle, too.
Tried to capture a specific jazzy vibe that Hodge likes + the vibe of the radio station Radio Romania Cultural that I like to listen to in Bucharest. A lot of Romanian songs on here, plus a lot of songs from all over Europe (and Brazil) + some USA sourced songs. It's very much vibes / sound based curation over lyrics btw. I was thinking Hodge hears things on the radio and around and just kinda' adds them in, so some of them don't exactly fit his music taste, but he's gotten used to them and he likes them! Some of these songs might also have been recommended to him by friends. Also, I tried to make things flow into each other -- but again, haven't tested it yet coz it's a bit long (2 hrs 31 min. with that bucharest traffic, i bet it takes that long for Hodge to drive across the city to his rich people house on the outskirts LOL). I couldn't cut it down for the life of me!
Hope you enjoy, and feel free to yap at me if you have any thoughts!

Dont wanna spend longer with this than I have, but a random collection of songs that I could see Edward Little taking to heart. For the prompt crying in the dark for @cold-boy-tapes!!
Id type this up normally but im on my phone rn and this is like 3hrs long. Doesn't need to be in order, can be shuffled! The order theyre in right now is basically the order I thought of them, so I guess the most pertinent ones are at the top, with Ghinzu's "Blow" being number one, quickly followed by a handful of Muses and Nine Inch Nails.
I tried to keep it kinda' in his music taste, but I know a lot of his music taste is mine bc I gave him mine, so basically these songs were picked because they're songs that I connect to. For Edward, they make him feel really emotional / are songs he listens to when he feels like utter shit, turned up way too loud or absolutely tuned in and not thinking about anything else but how miserable and wretched and upset he feels. It's missing "Anthem for No State" by Godspeed You! Black Emperor" which is not on Spotify rn. Also idk if the Billie Eilish fits at all but come on.
Intended to be just like a Mr. K playlist, no repeats (except for the ABBA coz I couldn't choose), music he'd listen to, lyrics in character, and the last four (20 thru 23) personal.
Themes of unconditional love, motifs of shadows, this one's not as consistent as the Ned playlist I put together, but I tried really hard nonetheless, and I really do feel it captures Dundy so very well. Also French songs!!! won't really go in further description bc i feel this one speaks for itself
No cover bc I don't like to.
Also thank you to friends on my Terror Discord for helping me find some of these!!
enjoy n do lemme know if you take a listen!!!!
EDIT: Meant to add a Perfekt Square song in but just could NOT find a place to fit any of them in!!!!
Modern Charlie's just broken free from his family to live a life all his own. They wanted him to be a concert pianist, but he saw no future there, playing in stuffy concert halls for a rapidly dwindling audience made up of mostly senior citizens. He is doing everything he can now to define himself as his own person in the world, and to defy everything his parents wanted him to be, but money is tight, his bestie (Hodge) thinks he needs to make his own money and is reluctant to give, and renting an apartment with a grumpy war vet twice his age (Dundy) isn't the glamorous life he'd thought he'd find. And a lot of times, he still wakes up from nightmares. Old traumas still haunt him. The drugs he's barely six months sober on still call to him. And the world is a place that wants him and those like him dead.
So I thought aggressive, high-paced, heavy bass EDM and similar such vibes would be very fitting for Chas! Also meme tunes haha. Plus, I kinda' loosely based his whole situation off my own irl bro's situation, so a lot of these songs are some he likes (and Kassio Project's 'Help Me See' is his song that he made AND his label).
BIG CAUTION this is super aggressive, heavy, often violent music, AND do NOT listen to 'Hey Baby' (song no. 5) in public, it's extremely sexual (she moans etc.).
Done in Mr. K style with music Chas would listen to + lyrics that are applicable to him. Songs 19 thru 22 are more personal!!! This doesn't have an opening credits song so much as an opening sequence set of songs, video game style, but it's okay.
Oh and final note tagging @faworsley bc I made this for him bc of his influences (as well as for myself bc I could just feel Charlie's vibes SO clearly).
The name on the Spotify is different (DJ DOLLEYES CLUB PARADYZZ MIX), but it's the same playlist.
Made when the Mr K joplist was put out but I forgot to post it.
Think of this as something jopson himself put together for one of his DJ sets! The lyrics don't really match, and I took some off Mr. K's list, but I really wanted to try my hand at making a setlist and wanted to figure out what kinda' edm jop would get into! Really tried hard to pick edm that sounded similar in vibes to the songs on Mr. K's list. (N decided Jop would like progressive and big room house.)
