What was the most wonderful moment you can recall?
Being awakened every night when the full moon traversed the Snake River Canyon while I slept outside in a sleeping bag on it's banks. It was so bright and beautiful and only ever took a few minutes because it was a narrow canyon but that moment each night of the 4 night river rafting trip were filled with such pure peace, I've never slept so well, before or since. Added bonus: waking up in the morning and identifying the critter tracks around my sleeping back to see what animals had come to check me out while I was asleep.
What was the most awful moment you can recall?
When Kathy Kercher pulled me aside to tell me that my best friend had committed suicide that weekend.
Do you know what ever happened to your first love?
What place have you been to that you’d recommend everyone should see before they die?
What place have you been to that you’d recommend everyone avoid at any cost?
Arkansas, especially if you look "different" or "unique." They don't seem to like that there.
What was your favorite toy as a kid?
What was the hardest thing you’ve ever accomplished?
Survival of manic episode aftermaths and survival of deep depressions.
What is your proudest achievement?
How different is your life now from what you imagined it would be as a teen?
I thought I'd be happier, and I thought I would still somehow be in Europe and not back in America.
Who has been the most influential person in your life and how?
My paternal grandmother. She was a strong woman and didn't take any flak from anybody. For a tiny person she could stare you right down into your chair.
If you could give your child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
I think at this point I can fairly say I'm not destined to be a breeder but if I had done my advice would probably be something like this:
If you want something (boyfriend, job whatever), ask for it, the worst anybody can say is no, and if they do, you're no worse off than you started, and at least you know you tried.
