Hey I know you're working a job and there are money issues (plus finding a publisher for tynk) but can we get an update? On Tumblr last one was a year ago (and even longer on indiegogo because for some reason you didn't give us one there, which isn't an issue at all just weird). Clarification: I am not forcing you make the game faster or whatever it's just that I and the other people who supported the indiegogo want to know if everything is okay. IS everything okay? Have a good day and sorry if you get these messages a lot
Hi! I don't get these messages too often but I don't mind answering them.
Development is still paused while we finish Beastieball. I occasionally pull it up and chip away in my spare time but nothing has progressed that's worth writing home (or to you guys) about. I'm optimistic about returning to it full time in the next year or two but it's dependent on a lot of stuff outside of my control. If things don't pan out how I'm hoping then after Beastieball I'll have to return to trying to court publishers - and for both our sakes lets hope that the current climate with publishers changes. Seems things are really bad for most indie devs in the same spot.
It's strange being stuck spinning my wheels. Gamedevs seem to finish projects in either 2 years or 10 and I'll admit I'm a little mortified to be skewing towards the latter. That said, I haven't lost sight of the goal. I've no intention of cancelling the game or doing another round of funding or anything like that. I'm just hunkering down until better conditions, because if I try to force it while working fulltime on another game I think I'd burnout beyond repair.
Thanks for your patience/concern!
