a lot of the writers i would have previously recommended have deactivated but i went through my fic rec account @na-yuurei and tried to find some of my favorites that are still up so here’s my top 5 all-time nct fics written by other authors in no particular order:

Dinner For Two by @whereisten: i remember reading this and being so excited when i realized the twist at the end. like i was just waiting for it to happen. i was also extremely in the mood for horror at the time so this was actually perfect to me. i love so many of krys and ari’s works so i strongly recommend checking out their masterlist!

A Clouded Fate by @byunbaekby: i loved the way aurora portrayed the characters and it was refreshing to see Lucas being used as something other than a himbo. aurora is like my original tumblr twin since we started writing around the same time and are about the same age too so i’d love it if you guys could check out her work as well!

Smultronställe by @gohyuck: when i was reading this, i was absolutely floored by the amount of detail put into the scenarios and how much time this would have taken to write. as a bio major, i really appreciated a piece like this but man…that was a lot. i have always looked up to raya and her writing so please check her out too!

Differences by @jenonctcity: this was one of the first NCT series i ever fell in love with on tumblr and i’ve idolized their work so much. when i tell you that i was starstruck when they followed me and said they like my writing, i mean it. if you guys are looking for really good character development and storytelling through difficulties, i strongly recommend their work.

A Marriage Of Inconvenience by @choco-mark: i remember liking this series so much that i would wait for each update so i could read it as soon as it came out. it inspired me so much that i wrote my own Taeyong spin-off of it (with consent from the author ofc). and now while i’m writing my own series, it made me appreciate mina’s work even more because i realized how difficult it is to write a series, especially for this type of au. though she’s not active on tumblr anymore, i still recommend checking out her work

ooh!! i suddenly thought of 2 translated romance fictions that i have enjoyed but they were from long long time ago so i couldn't remember their titles 😭 (i had this electronic dictionary when i was young and it had a built-in e-library and for some reason it included mature fictions despite being targeted to students sjdjeke i think they were labelled under "american classics" so i assume they were written in the last century) i wonder if you or your followers have read something like this before 😭

if my memory didn't fail me, i think either the author or protagonist was called Elizabeth? it was set in the wild west/desert and the male protagonist was looking for gold/gem/treasure and the female protagonist joined him on the journey. he had always looked down on her bc her original job was related to gambling (her job is just distributing poker cards :/), although she had been always been nothing but kind to him. the journey went on, and when he finally found the treasure in a cave, an accident happened and the entrance collapsed. no one was willing to risk their lives to save him but she did, dragging that heavy man in coma out of the cave alone. the first thing he said after waking up was "where is the treasure? where is that woman? i knew we shouldn't have trusted her, she is indeed a greedy whore", that was the last blow that completely hurt her and she finally left him, without taking any portion of the treasure she deserved in the discovery of it. after he had learnt the truth, he went on to find her and found her in her original place of work. the ending was that he had apologised to her but i think we never knew if she accepted his apology...it's not awfully romantic when i think about it now, but i guess my middle schooler self enjoyed the adventures in between 😆 (and loved the selfless female protagonist ㅠㅠ)

a summer fling~ the character names that i remember of are: jimmy, minnie? so this single mother lives in hawaii with her son. she got pregnant when the father went to hawaii for a holiday 18 or 20 years ago, they lost contact after he had left hawaii so he never knew he had a son until he went back to hawaii and randomly saw a teenager that looked like him haha the mother had already stumbled across the father the day he arrived and she kept avoiding letting her son to go near him, it was quite amusing haha this story made me put hawaii on my bucket list 😆

oh wow, we're up for a long ass ride. i'd say i'm exposing myself but i've been doing it with every fic i write so let's go.

overall i only write about kinks that i'm into. i haven't had the chance to try a lot so I don't know if I actually enjoy everything but yeah, thinking about these turns me on so let's dive into it with an explanation that nobody asked.

- praise kink (top tier, unfortunately, I need validation) 

- degradation but the way i write it lmao if it goes too hard I'd literally cry. it's all about the teasing for me and knowing they don't actually think what they're saying (it's a weird comfort, i need therapy)

-  size kink!!! yes sir i unfortunately find it extremely hot. but tbh I find size difference hot both if I'm submissive and if I'm dominant, especially if my partner is a man. like a big tall man getting dominated by me??✨ HOT ✨

- talking about sub men, i need to peg one like desperately

- pet play but just the pet names (kitty, bunny, puppy), leash and collar and maybe some things like ears or tail but not the full fantasy of acting like a pet

- i also write a lot of 3/5somes but I don't think I'll ever be comfortable making it happen irl rip. 1) find the right people 2) what if it gets awkward after? 3) you really have to trust them. but I think that it's really hot when more people have to make it work

- free use is the same. really hot if i think about it but i don't know how practical it is irl. i know people do this but i've read so many stories of so definite doms not respecting rules/limits/safeword that i don't feel so safe with certain things. would feel 100% more comfortable trying this with a woman though

- about roleplays... i don't know, i guess it can be fun?? but i've never had the chance to try anything and i don't know if i'd be able to play into a fantasy and which one

- the only thing i wrote that I'm not extremely into is probably innocence kink but for the reasons i told you and because i'm so far gone i could never even pretend to be innocent irl. but it's not in one of my hard limits so I'm quite comfortable writing it

THANK YOU??!! i think that it's because i'm both into giving and receiving so that probably helps me portray all the points of view of the people involved??? and also because i don't get out of my comfort zone. for example, free use is often paired with somnophilia but i'm not comfortable with that, if somebody asked me to write it, it would come out terribly because i can't step into the shoes. in general, if you know/like what you're writing about, it will come out well.
