Aoshima Type 60 Recoilless Rifle Carrier

Tinkering with this kit, already small in real life, is not much larger than a jeep, so in 1/72 scale, it's very small...

Just the major sub assemblies so far, before fixing some glue smears...

Then paint the interior, add the periscopes, some other details...

Then more swearing practice with the tracks....

Posed next to a 72 scale M60, it's definitely an ambush 'shoot and scoot' type, not stand and slug it out vehicle...

It is in fact a KDF Type 60, or a beetle (for the profane model like us) produced during the Second World War and in this case adapted for the Red Cross service: the beauty of these cars is that they were modified for basically any purpose.
