IRON LUNG AU/FANGAME IDEA: A “Type Help”-esque adaptation of Iron Lung where you play as a COI employee trying to find uncorrupted transcripts of the audio logs in the black box after the events of the movie DO YOU SEE THE VISION DO YOU HEAR ME GOD DO YOU HEAR ME

The characters are given numbers just like in the game (and you can rename the numbers into the characters' names to keep better track of them like in Type Help)
@ = the transcriber
1 = Simon
2 = Ava
3 = David
4 = Jack
5 = The One Who Told You to Cross the Wires
6 = the SM-8 captain
7 and 8 = the rest of the SM-8 crew
And when Simon hallucinates, only his side of the conversation is heard (but it would also be funny if the hallucinations weren’t simple hallucinations and they were picked up by the voice recorder or transcribed on their own)
bonus if the transcriber goes mad while making the transcripts of the audio logs and hides the files and file names so that the player has to find them
The locations should have initials as well, I think. I have a few ideas (HA = hangar, CA = cave) but idk what other locations to abbreviate because that would mean naming areas in the blood ocean map. I think replacing the location initials with coordinates would be funnier but that’s a lotta numbers lmfao. I could also give the subs initials (SM13 and SM8) but idk.
Of course, the events would all be in different time codes just like in Type Help, and they will be separated into acts as well (Type Help had 4 acts, but for this one there are three, I’m still thinking of what to name them)
The text colors for each act should be green for ACT I, yellow for ACT II, and red for ACT III.

Realization about Type Help (particularly about "@")

So "@" mentions in his final note, that no one is as isolated as he. He figures he was hand-picked for the job, for that reason. However (and maybe this is obvious, but it blew my mind) he wasn't the only person working on the case!
The harddrive greets us as 'username2". We never entered a username, that was already in the system! Which means there must be a username1!
I wonder if Richard and his colleage (colleages?) were instructed to keep the default usernames, to avoid "contagion"... Maybe that's also why the authorship of the "@" notes is unclear (more on this later).
There's communication and an impression of teamwork in the notes ("I think your theory was right", "that's one thing we don't have to test ourselves", "I'm not often sympathetic to the victims in our cases", ect). Yet, in the briefing Richard gets described as the only man who knew what happened.
I think that Richard Longley had the task of transcribing handwritten notes ("I hope you can read my handwriting"), and I'm not sure if he even had access to the audio files themselves. It's possible he wrote the instructions on how to navigate the interface, but it's also possible those were left for him, due to the handwriting comment. Maybe multiple people had access to the same system and could edit documents together?
All in all, it's hard to determine which notes/edits are his, and which are his colleages'. And maybe that's the point.
In his final notes, he mentions looking at the most recent case, and remembering someone when going over the notes. Notes that, perhaps, he realized he didn't write himself.
My best guess is they were a team of three, since he mentions a chain of "Darren, Sarah, and me." The curse must have gotten to them before Richard realized what he had to do to stop the chain, which is why they're not mentioned in the briefing either.
I honestly don't get the critic about type help's ending, personally it shocked me and frightened me, people say it's abrupt but I don't understand how you can say that after reading Oswald's last file, the ending seemed pretty clear to me and I think that flew over people's heads which is ironic

Like the original catalyst of the curse was the Galley's reaction to Eleanor's suicide, they refused to talk about it or even mention their daughter, they acted like she never even existed, that's why people are cursed to be forgotten when they die and what sets off the chain of death
Oswald pretty explicitly condemn his family's behaviour, that's what lead him to leave, and that's what he talks about in his last moments, you should cherish the dead and not let yourself forget your loved ones, don't treat them like they're expendable even when they're gone
Regarding the investigator, I don't see how you could treat their death as abrupt when the fact that they're dead is stated in the first email you read, and the final twist is foreshadowed by various files you find throughout the game (26-EN-1, 00-audio-recovery etc)
Not to mention that the investigator themselves grows to be an active character just as much as all the other victims through their notes (I personally really like their comment about listening to people sleeping), end up calling the victims by their name instead of their number by the end of the game and address the hypothetical reader, even if they don't know if anyone is actually going to read their file when they realise they're the next one, they're just happy the curse is (hopefully) going to die with them
Personally I think the game did a great job making you connect to all the characters, even the investigator, so that their inevitable deaths would be even more impactful
has anyone following me played the game Type Help? I’m only a little bit in (9 saved documents) but I’m really stuck on where to go next. I’ve been putting in random file names but I only have 4 places & idk where this guy Thornton is.
