Why do all the years from 2015 to 2029 sound and feel so futuristic and exciting, but then all the years from 2030 to 2099 sound and feel totally normal and mundane?

i think what i hate most about current humor is that everyone is taking online jokes and saying them out loud. like. i'll tag myself in shit all day and have the shittiest slang on tumblr but if i hear one more person say "tag urself" or "roast" or "things she did: that" i will lose my fuckin mind
