Final 3 Stings & Evaluation
These are my final 3 stings presented in a single video.
I'm extremely happy with the final outcome and how the project has went in general. When I first came up with the idea of animating type to show methods of producing type, I never thought the animations would come together as well as they did. There's something really nice about seeing them happen in the same frame. I feel like I've really upped my game in the precision of my animations too - I've put a lot of my time on the project into timing the animations and keeping them at a speed which works for what they're trying to represent.
One thing which the project really benefitted from was the sound effects and how they enforce the idea/method which they represent. It was vital in giving the project a 'complete' look and developing it into a final outcome. One of the biggest surprises of the project was the audio in the 5 Second Sting. I came across a problem of cluttered sound effects and responded to this by inserting a small clip of music - it seemed to just fit and work with the small segment of animation. Another success was the last minute colour change which seemed to change the whole vibe of the animation in general - it became a lot more fun and inviting which I think is important considering it's purpose is to be used in an exhibition space.
One thing I wish I would have experimented with the idea of, is potentially doing some filming/spacial work. I really enjoyed the process of working with After Effects, and feel that I strengthened this area a lot, however it would have been nice to develop my skills with a camera as well. Perhaps I could have experimented with overlaying the animation on some videos within the exhibition space, or just around Liverpool in general.
Overall I'm extremely pleased with my final result. I've learned so much in the process and I feel like this might be one of my best pieces of work at University yet.
