How about YOU stop being an asshole? People like you who rush to excuse abuse like this while pretending to be above it...
Don't mistake what I said for excusing or approving of it. These people are, to put it bluntly, delusional. That makes them more dangerous than anyone who's just hateful--the person screaming 'go back to the beach, fatty' at least knows on some level they're wrong, but someone convinced they're doing the right thing is someone who will fuck you over with a smile. I try to be compassionate about it because I don't feel it stems from maliciousness, just ignorance, but that doesn't equal approval.
