But where can I actually find a fitzsimmons as Jim and Pam fic???? Bc that photo set was amazing!
I’m not sure which photoset you’re talking about, but cool? :)
and typhanni is the expert when it comes to fic. She mentioned one called The Office that I tracked down, but she probably knows more.
Drabble attack!
I blame typhanni and memorizingthedigitsofpi if I'm currently going through a handful of manips on tumblr and getting ideas for FitzSimmons' stories... neglecting all the other WIPs I have half-done... I'll probably write short -I hope- prompts that will be added to the headcanon series. -thumps head on desk-
I don't think so. Please educate me.
a short summary, or the long one:
The Hipster Iain Specs of Sex Movement began with theradiointukyshead‘s innocent post wondering what Iain would look like with hipster glasses (She soon lived to regret that, as it is, after all, Iain.)
Then:
It escalated to a picture.
Other people started jumping in.
Then Liz got added, and it became applied to Fitzsimmons, not just Iain.
Introducing: Beautiful Hipster God, Professor Leo Fitz!
one more I can’t think of a caption for
Then Hoang Anh wrote this incredible fic, Love is Mainstream (Turn the Radio Off), in which our dear Leopold Fitz is an accidental hipster and meets Jemma Simmons the hipster.
In the city you need to watch where you’re going, or you might walk into a post, a mailbox, a stranger, or worse, your future girlfriend.
And then of course, it actually happened. In canon. I still can’t believe it.
So there you have it. The Specs of Sex.
You’re welcome.
Author Appreciation Week #10
Next author to rec: typhanni or as she’d known on ff.net and Ao3, notapepper; here’s the page of her stories.
Personal favorites: Gone Soft, A few Trick Up my Sleeve and My Big Fat British Pregnancy (by Leopold Fitz). I can’t say how much I laughed reading all of these...XD
becomingastarmaster chose numbers 13, 4, 1
Prompt: The night before the wedding, a clown in training meets the ghost of Ernest Hemingway.
Read it on AO3 - but only if you’ve already read A Few Tricks Up My Sleeve
I’m doing a fic-a-day challenge in June. Send me three numbers between 1 and 60 if you want to give me a prompt!
Replies to eclecticmuses, agentverbivore, tinyscienceangels and typhanni under the cut ‘cause they got mega long :-)
I'm not the biggest fan of babyfic either, but sometimes I want to try one because, you know. I've actually been pregnant. And have a child. So I feel like I'd have a better grasp on it. But meh.
Go for it! Though I have no experience with it, I’m SURE there are a lot of babyfics out there that get it all wrong because the author isn’t experienced with it, either. I’m sure you’d do great! (I prob won’t read it but I <3 you anyway!)

hahahaha oh NO, I'd be super annoyed by that! (the worst is untagged MC death, though!) but yeah, I just basically won't ever read it - except for maybe one or two drabbles I've reblogged. I also find myself doing fantastic cartwheels to find ways to make it clear that it isn't happening in my own fic, lol. like, rn I'm working on one where eventually there will be sexing in a magical kingdom that's ~the same time period as 150 years ago and I just... I have yet to figure out what narrative calisthenics I'm going to do to make it so that there's no chance of pregnancy, lol.
Oh yeah, untagged MC death should be punishable by banishment from the internet forever. I’m just lucky enough to have not come across that very often (seems like something that doesn’t happen much in our fandom at least).
And I think you answered your own question with MAGICAL KINGDOM, no? Is there no magic warlock who could bless the main characters with the gift of no babies?
tinyscienceangels replied to your post “agentverbivore replied to your post “just picture this: 8 months...”
just thought i'd pop by and say i wasn't really thinking about fic at all when i sent that (because i'm very picky about baby/pregnancy!fic actually). more just like, in general? but if that's not your thing, it's not your thing and that's cool.
Ahh yes makes sense! Yeah, just not my thing, though I know lots of people are into it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But yayy I know we have plenty else in common!

Yep. I do read it, but there are a lot of tropes I like better (and I 100% agree about surprise untagged pregnancy in a fic -- it's not untagged major character death, but it's still not a cool move)
I think with AO3 in particular, you just gotta tag anything divisive. I know that some writers will cling to their “but it will ruin le narrative if I bequeath the element of SURPRISE!” but honestly screw that, it’s fanfic, most of us read it for funsies, don’t make me read something I hate, ya know? Tags exist for a reason and it’s so people can read the stuff they enjoy and not read the stuff they don’t care for. The result? UTOPIA!
