I read your post about how Knives would be more 'human' than Vash with their s/o. I've been thinking about how human he feels. He'd definitely be the type to fight with his s/o and then leave for a bit to calm down and collect his thoughts. Once he's done he would apologise and try to comfort his s/o in his own way. We know his way of thinking but I think if it comes to his s/o he would think about what he's said and figure out where he went wrong.

Oh definitely- I wrote a drabble where knives fights w a pining reader and it hit hard.

I think for the worst fights? He’d dive into work for a solid few days or even a week while Vash tries to coax him out of his room. He’s got a bit of an ego on his side sometimes,

It’ll take him a hot minute because he hates to admit you did make a few valid points, as did he, and then the regret hits him like a freight train. Fuck, he pushed the best thing happening to him away from him and he has to make it up somehow.

Stopping by your dorm and dropping off snacks or meals by your door. He doesn’t need to label them. You know who gave them to you, especially if this isn’t your first fight. Sometimes he’ll write a small letter anyway, not a direct apology but perhaps berating on how you should eat, among other things.

When all is said and done you’ll visit his condo, and when he sees you he’ll invite you in. It’s tense, but you both mean well, and if you apologize he’ll insist that it’s fine.

He missed you. A lot. He’s more dependent on you than he’d like to admit.

While he doesn’t really want to talk about it and just wants things to return to what they were before, if you want to talk about it he won’t refuse. He hurt you, he shouldn’t have said some of the things he said. He’ll work on these faults, he’ll try to listen.

You’re a good communicator, and he’ll always value that about you. You’re what he needs. And when all is said and done, when you’ve made amends and can rest in his arms again,

It’ll take him awhile to let you go. He doesn’t truly deserve your touch, your love, but you stay. You, soft and beautiful you, and it’ll take him a hot minute to truly believe you need him as much as he needs you.
