So i picked the option for my MC's phone background to be him and Willow, 'cause i wanted to lean into their connection. But ever since the convo with Croft at the lake I now live in fear that at some point our phone is gonna randomly turn on ('cause fog's gonna fog) and Willow will be missing from the picture 😭
Also omg, MC in chapter 4 wondering if they're immune to the fog 'cause they haven't forgotten yet (and i'm just internally screaming about the scene in the diner where they were affected and didn't realize it) -- buddy, dude, my guy, I need you to get like 200% more paranoid NOW! XD
Anyhow, I absolutely love the way you use juxtaposition as horror, like everything is terrifying and bad but also everything is normal and quotidian and you HAVE to keep one foot in both realities, you have to engage with the lie, you gotta mask and pretend and it's so claustrophobic, I love it!
Ohhhhh that's so chilling and spooky. You're giving me ideas, nonnie ;)
Get more paranoid now is so funny to me. Bestie open your eyes!! Look out!!!! The fog is coming!!!!!!!!!!
Genuinely thank you!! This is such cool praise tbh. It's a sort of horror I really enjoy for a lot of reasons. Like, there are monsters, there's an evil fog, you're becoming something Else...but you still have to wake up in the morning, right? You still have to engage with the world. You can't just lock yourself away and die about it...
Which is exactly how the fog gets you. Lull yourself into a false enough sense of normalcy...
Claustrophobic is a very fun way to put it!! I definitely try <3
