Not a quote, but I saw a post somewhere about the fact that red blood cells from Cells at Work should be very strong, especially considering that they carry oxygen, nutrients and carbon dioxide around all day, and oxygen isn’t a very light gas.

Consider this: In a sudden bout of genius (or stupidity, depending on how you see it), U-4989 wants to see if AE-3803 could piggy back him. When he tells his musings to the rest of the gang, it results in, “4989, NO!” “4989, YES!”

 The next time he sees AE-3803 without both anything in her arms and 1146 not beside her, he runs at her from behind at full speed, and yeets himself onto her back. 

She catches him, to everyone’s surprise, and after 4989 gives a soft, “Well, I didn’t really expect that to work.”, they both burst out in laughter.

After that, the squad gets curious, and wants to see if she can piggy back all of them at the same time. Like the on the shoulders piggyback 1146 gives the Platelet in the anime intro. After figuring out how to get multiple people on her shoulders, it all goes well until 4989 tries something he probably should not have. He jumped off a building.

Long story short, the piggyback tower falls and most people around them scream out of fear, the tower included (NK and Dendritic cell were passing through and stayed to see how things worked out. And this is so funny that Dendritic cell almost full on laughs). The screams attract multiple immune cells, and they all see the final scene that has played out.

In order of bottom to top, there is: AE-3803 tending to U-1146 and U-2626 with a sore nose and head herself; U-1146 with a bleeding nose and being tended to by 3803; U-2626 lying on the floor kinda dazed with an almost broken nose; U-2001 is really dazed with a broken nose, saying stuff along the lines of “I did not sign up for this.” and, “God damnit, 4989.”; U-2048 is unconscious with a broken nose; U-4989 somehow managed to hit the back of his head on a railing and is now unconscious, and probably would have a concussion if he was human. Although, seeing his response to being shocked by the fused Staphylococcus, he’d probably have something close to one.
