A thought on the Series Luke Cage. This has specifically with Shades to do, not she show as a whole. I liked Luke Cage as a show and want more. This is not going to comment on that, cause I’ve got too much feels, it would be too long. Minor spoiler warning. If you have not seen it all yet.

For real tho, I thought Shades was bound to have a super power. Like some kind of manipulation or force truths out of people.

The way he is presented the first time and a few other times after that, where he asks for “the truth please” and then when he still don’t believe them he pulls off his shades to ask again. Like the way the camera is handled and the scene looks. It totally had me believing there was something unnatural about him. Like Cyclops but instead the glasses holds him back from constantly reading minds or something, or like Medusa like eyes but instead of stone you have to tell the truth.

TURNS OUT the fucker is just a good old mobster. Who wants to look u in the eye when you lie and thinks he’s so good at telling the difference. What the heck writers and cinematography staff, what the heck kind of CURVEBALL work was that. U butts. I expected super people.
