There will be a plethora of posts about U2’s concert last night here in Manila and mine will definitely be one of it because it is one of my truest testimonies that if something is meant for you, IT IS MEANT FOR YOU. When they announced their tour scheds in Asia, I was invited by my godsister, @princessofdisguise, to join her in the Seoul leg. It would’ve been great to watch U2 for the first time, finally get to visit Korea & finally be able to push thru w/ our plan to travel together. But at the last minute before saying yes (we had pre-selling perks), I backed out. I had to say no to the opportunity because there were so many things I had to consider and I wasn’t sure if I could afford all the expenses that time. With a heavy heart, I had to let go. 2 months after, U2 announced that they’ll have a Manila leg. I scrambled for all the info I could get about the ticket prices and seized every opportunity to get a chance to buy those tickets. But come selling day, all technology forces just seemed to block me from buying at least one ticket. I was seriously close to giving up when an angel of a friend in the form of @rizrod offered to get my ticket (even if she was also in the ER that time because of her kid 😣). And just like that, I finally got my chance to see U2. IN MANILA. 4 hours waiting in line, warding off people trying to cut us in line, an hour lining up just to buy food that we didn’t get to buy, and getting stuck in traffic inside Philippine Arena for 3 hours couldn’t dampen our spirits, because the energy was so palpable what with all the friends we saw, all the people we met (with shared jokes while waiting in line!) and that pure love inside the arena for 2.5 hours. I’m still in tears while typing this, tbh.
