wing stuff
last photos text cut off, says "ultimately useless"
dogs are flightless, instead evolving a third pair of legs rather than wings. their appearance, like dragons, can vary wildly, but instead of having subspecies/races, appearance varies more per individual and cannot be put into a category. their basic body plan is that they are six limbed, often have "unnatural" features (large floppy ears, curled tails, small or large size, odd coloration, etc.), and have large eyes and more expressive faces.
they tend to collect old world artifacts to piece together their past, unlike dragons, who tend to destroy the old world out of fear. they value time and the passage of time, and also seek to understand mysteries. they are drawn to space and often study it.
dog populations are often small and dispersed due to persecution, but populations that do stick together are very tight-knit, and value family and friends even more than dragons do.
oftentimes, dogs struggle with a sense of wrongness, and are unsure why. though they dont know what humans are exactly, dogs miss their owners, even if they dont know it. this is why they are drawn to space - they often wonder if theres more life outside of earth, something that can right their wrongness.
old world + colors
color symbolism in dragon culture is a bit different than colors in the old world. heres some views of colors in dragon society
red: violence, the makings of life/lifestuff (like. insides? idk how to explain it), antithesis to green and therefore unholy, danger
orange: sunsets, near endings, softness (soft light, comfort) also, passion and drive (like fire). and consumption
yellow: midlife, sunset color once again, brightness and vitality (sun)
green: nature, life, religion and holiness
blue: lifegiving, calm, safety, change and currents, natural (water)
violet: the unknown, unnatural, the old world
black: the unknown/space, natural (night), endings, death and danger
white: wonder and curiosity, slightly unnatural, unknown (stars)
old world
the old world is basically the world that humans resided in. humans died out due to nuclear combat, leading to the mass death of species and rapid and unnatural evolution of surviving species. this is how dragons came to be, as long with the other creatures they share their world with. which i still gotta design. but i have some ideas
dogs are most familiar with the old world, as previously mentioned in another post, but most dragons are afraid of the old world due to lack of knowledge, and would rather distance themselves from dogs as much as possible. im not sure what dogs look like yet, i just thought of them but i really like their concept
