1973 UFO ABDUCTION AT PASCAGOULA - Pascagoula, Mississippi. - On the early morning of October 11, 1973 two shipyard workers – Charles Hickson, 42, and Calvin Parker, 19, – were fishing at this location on the banks of the Pascagoula River when a large, glowing, buzzing, hovering, metallic “craft” appeared behind them. Three, 5 foot-tall, antennaed, wrinkle-skinned “robotic” creatures with gripping “claw-like” appendages were then seen to float out of the Other-Worldly UFO towards the terrified men. The strange beings seized the “dazed” fishermen and floated them into the illuminated craft. On board, the semi-conscious pair underwent a brief medical examination (by an alien “eye-like” device) before being released back onto the bank by the occupants. The craft then zipped away into the night sky leaving the confused abductees alone in the early morning dark. Coming to their senses, the panicked men debated telling their story at all, but then decided to contact the police and the military. The resulting investigations, by law enforcement and UFO investigators, gained the attention of the national and international press which resulted in a media frenzy. THE GULF BREEZE UFO ENCOUNTERS: MASS SIGHTINGS AT SHORELINE PARK - Throughout much of the 1990s, the town of Gulf Breeze, Florida was considered to be "The UFO Capitol of the World." Made famous as a result of the media frenzy surrounding local contactee Ed Walters' UFO sightings and photographs from the late 80s, Gulf Breeze was accepted as "UFO Central" by researchers and sensational journalists alike. But these titles were not given just because of the Walters Encounters, but also due to the fact he was not the only one seeing strange things in the skies. Dozens of sightings of unknown objects in the area fueled amateur skywatches and investigative efforts which brought even more reported encounters and hundreds of alleged sightings. Seemingly, everyone was seeing UFOs around Gulf Breeze. One of the more popular locations for nighttime aerial observation throughout the decade was on the beaches of Gulf Breeze's Shoreline Park.
