But Edward as an Ex would be crazy, especially if there's still feelings involved. Now, I don't think he'd specifically be the cause. He doesn't have many deal breakers other than the fact that being so driven to restore his and Alphonse's bodies might make him unintentionally neglect reader.
But I like my readers a little devious and problematic, so let's just say they were a little toxic.
And let's say they're also a part of the military, so he can't go one day without seeing them, and maybe even working with them💔
And it all boils down to a 3 AM call
He would also do the walk of shame back to his and Alphonse's place. Alphonse would be judging so hard, bc I know he catches him leaving or coming back, bro does not sleep

i think maybe reader isn’t healed enough and it’s reader’s fault certainly that they break up? but edward is still definitely pining to massive and insane degrees over reader…
ALSO i love the idea that they work together and now have to be civil!!! it’s so much more entertaining…and also potentially reawakens any sort of dormant feelings they have for one another. or continues to reinforce them smh
i could definitely see how these circumstances lead edward to a late night call for once in his life SMH. i think it’s all about the context you know!! the history!!! the love that hasn’t gone anywhere!!
god the way he breaks…..the way he gives in to this reader….he loves her too much…
