Full Time is the new soccer show hosted by Utah Royals FC Forward Katie Stengel and her first guest is teammate Mandy Laddish who has battled major injuries to return to the game Full Time is hosted by Katie Stengel Podcast length: 34′ 52″ On the first episode of Full Time, Katie Stengel enters the …
Another podcast being started by a Utah Royal player - Full Time with Katie Stengel.
Great first episode talking to Mandy Laddish about her hideous injury that took her out of the game for 2 years and some the struggles of injuries and pro-football careers for women.
“As a rookie, what are they making now - $15,000?” “Yeah, we made $6,000 our rookie year.”
“The poverty level in 2014 was like $12,000 for an individual and we made $6,000. I almost applied for foodstamps but I didn’t because I thought I might get in trouble with the league.”
A real eye opener about the reality of life for non-National team players in the NWSL and particularly teams, unlike Utah, who don’t provide the facilities and amenities you’d expect for professional sports.
I had a dream that I get top surgery last night and all was well but then THEY FUCKIN GREW BACK god even in my dreams things don't work out
Glow in the dark
They could barely see anything through their tear-filled eyes, not to mention the smoke that caused the reaction. They ran past doors and empty rooms, it's empty because anyone inside weren't alive anymore, and searched for a way out. The only reason they even survived is because they fell asleep under their invention and woke up just in time to see and avoid the wall behind them collapse. They wondered if there was anyone actually alive in the mansion, but they didn't have the luxury of finishing that thought after a chandelier almost landed on them.
They jumped through the door just in time, because the fire had reached the basement, and goodness knows that place is one of the most explosive places they've ever been to. The gigantic bonfire they used to call home gave out a groan and, they ran as far as they could at this point, collapsed into itself after the flames engulfed the many explosive chemicals and gunpowder below and gave a deafening roar. Their ears rang and they felt numb. It was all gone now, their home, their family, and all that remained is the charred junk the inferno will leave, and the small metal bird they managed to rescue before their room collapsed.
They poked it, and it chittered in response. A voice in the back of their head whispered something about medical attention, but that's not that important, they weren't that injured. They briefly wondered if the mechanical bird could register their touches, or pain and injuries for that matter.
"Hey," they whispered, oblivious to the police men that came and surrounded them, "Can you feel this?"
They poked their little friend multiple times, and it had chirped and pecked at their hand. They looked back at their house and saw nothing but a glow in the dark. Soon, they couldn't remember anything between that time and the time they had woken up inside a hospital. Bronze and silver bird still beside them, still there, still intact, and they pondered for a brief moment if it felt their gratitude towards it.
Reading a book for my feminist book club and discovering the wonders of 80s scifi written by women! Including but not limited to eugenics for fun and profit, bio essentialism because women be makin babies, rape and rape and rape because that’s all men know, new ways to repurpose slurs to mean something they actually have never ment before, and lastly of course, precognition to make it scifi. So I think we are gonna have a lot to talk about tomorrow.
I want to play BG3 for more Raphael stuff but am currently stuck with responsibilities, bleh. I have to turn in my rough draft on the Lovecraftian elements within Kurosawa Kiyoshi’s J-horror films and how the themes of existential helplessness ties into the concept of life and death.
I really wish Kiyo didn’t have that backstory. Sure, he’s a bit creepy but. You know. That whole big thing aside… He’s got of lot of fun information about his talent and mythology nevermind he is incorrect about Medusa I can’t forgive that
