      It seemed a terribly understated reaction from someone a hairsbreadth away from being bisected by a blade nearly twice their width. Had he dodged a note later, he’d have surely been struck through.

      “I’d not expected this from you...” but Kuja wasn’t looking at his attacker, gaze trained instead on the buster sword--  more accurately, perhaps, upon his own reflection, marred as it was in that worn, silver surface. Silk billowed with movement as he reached, a lone finger carefully tracing the odd grooves at the base of the blade’s fuller. 

      “From one weapon to another, dear, fighting without due cause is quite vulgar.” And when his line of sight finally lifted from sword to wielder, the world around them seemed to freeze solid from the lethal intent which crept from him.

      “So tell me, Cloud, was it something I said? Or are you simply... Vulgar?”
