The "sometimes you won't get to be in a relationship with the person you like but you will be fine" aspect of Will's storyline would have actually been really inspirational if it had been given to a straight male character instead.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do not believe that queer men are known for operating under the assumption that at some point another person is going to come into their life and bestow upon them a significant amount of free labor and resources, and to relieve them of the obligation to learn the skills necessary to function as adults and care for themselves.

I've never known queer men to have the expectation that someone else will be providing them with meals, housekeeping, laundry services, emotional support, physical intimacy on demand, household management, kin keeping, and to provide a warm, comfortable, and well decorated living space for them. I don't know any queer men who expect that they'll get a personal secretary, therapist, and a person to birth and raise children for them so they can feel like they "did something with their lives" and "have a legacy." All while also expecting that individual who is providing them with never-ending services to also subsidize them financially.

This is very much an outdated expectation that cishet men struggle with - an expectation in which the majority of the Duffers' target viewers (Gen Z men) will never have fulfilled. The "lesson" that the Duffers taught via Will would have been far more relevant had it gone to their cishet male fanbase who actually needed it.

I dont understand why people have an issue with you choosing not to write for eunseok or mark. Tumblr has many writers that are going to continue writing for them so they can just do a search for those instead. Just because you stop writing for them doesnt mean you are wishing death upon them or anything dramatic.

Also, I don't know what this person means by "gringo" mindset but seeing as they used the term im gonna assume they are possibly also Hispanic, BUT you dont have to be American to know that the language eunseok used and the actions that mark did are wrong. People outside of the west have called them both out for offensive language and clothing. Just because what they did doesnt bother anon doesnt mean other people weren't offended by it. So no anon it isnt just gringo mindset because I promise you the same thing happens all around the world and just because you havent gone through colorism and racism doesnt mean that you get the right to deny or invalidate other people's feelings.

Also just because something is used as a term of endearment doesnt mean that everyone views it as that. I have gotten called a bunch of things as terms of endearment and not every name made me happy, so again just because on person may have used it endearingly doesnt mean it comes off that way for everyone.
