The largest terrestrial sophont species known, the uhar (Uhar titanis) is 18 feet tall and weighs approximately 15 tons, it is one of the largest land predators of its homeworld, Hiallyus, only rivaled in size by the equally terrifying Ouanar, which, while shorter (at 14 feet) is considerably heavier, weighing in at 20 tons. Despite their fearsome appearance, the uhar are among the most peaceful of the sophonts, rarely enacting wars among themselves and other species, in fact, they often do the opposite, attempting to form peace treaties between warring civilizations. Uhar are unique in how they reproduce, as they do not physically copulate, instead pollinating like earth flowers. Every 25 years, when Hiallyus enters a very brief, summer-like season, both 'male' (pollen-producing individuals) and 'female' (fruit-producing individuals) change from their usual winter coat, to a more contrasting summer coat. The males release pollen from the bare patches on their necks on a weekly basis. While, females collect the pollen on the very same neck patches, producing fruit soon after, which falls off after a month of development, and continues to develop over another month, before an infant, no larger than a cougar, emerges from the fruit.
