CHIEF WARLOCK ARRESTED || plot drop

It happened on Monday at 3PM. Aurors stormed into the law offices in the Ministry and arrested the Chief Warlock, Draco Malfoy. For those living under a rock; the Chief Warlock oversees court procedures, presiding over the Wizengamot. Malfoy was walked out of the Ministry by several Aurors, interrupting everyone’s work day. Only a few weeks ago, Malfoy threw a huge Christmas in July ball for the entire wizarding world. Once, that ball was considered welcoming, but it seems he was covering up his own agenda. According to our sources, Malfoy was arrested on the use of an Unforgivable, attempted murder, and aiding and abetting.

We know what you’re asking and the answer is yes. According to our sources, Draco Malfoy is still an active Death Eater. Our sources say his arrest charges have to do with two attacks that happened earlier this year. First, it was the attack on Marcie Bloem on New Years Eve. Which, we should point out, was an event hosted by Malfoy’s father: the right hand man to You-Know-Who.

Our sources say that Malfoy put Phoenix Zabini under the imperius curse and used him to attack Miss Bloem. Zabini has no record of being violent, or exhibiting violent behavior. When Aurors went back to search the train car, they found an object that belonged to Malfoy. They has no way to prove it was him until months later. After intensive research into Malfoy, it was found that he was responsible for two Death Eaters being released from Azkaban: Lucius Malfoy and Cypress Yaxley. Was that on purpose? We can only assume he used his position to break out the deadliest Death Eaters and had plans to do more.

Not only was Malfoy responsible for that attack, but he was also responsible for aiding and abetting the Successor who attempt to murder Head Auror Harry Potter during the anniversary of the Second War in May. Our sources say Malfoy is the only person who knew how to get in and out of Hogwarts without apparating or a spell. And that, readers is the vanishing cabinet located in the Room of Requirement. Though Aurors couldn’t manage to get through to see where the other cabinet is. Our source says it’s blocked by a powerful warding spell.

In all, we guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. No matter how many flashy parties they throw, some families will never change. I reached out to the family and got no response. But we’ll be sure to give you more information as the day goes on. So, until next time, readers.

Here’s what your characters know:

It is believed that Draco Malfoy is still an active Death Eater.

He was arrested for the attack on Marcie Bloem, and letting the Successor into Hogwarts to murder Harry Potter.

Phoenix Zabini was found innocent for the attack on Bloem, having been put under the imperius curse.

It’s being said, Draco was responsible to letting two Death Eaters free from Azkaban: Cypress Yaxley (son of Corban Yaxley who served Voldemort), and Lucius Malfoy.

Our article includes the following trigger warnings: tw: fake body, tw: fake death. so skip to** if it’s too much, readers.

If Minister Hawthorne won’t handle the Death Eater problem, there’s a new group who will. I know what you’re asking; are we in trouble? And honestly? We don’t know yet, readers. It’s safe to say everyone was disappointed after Minister Hawthorne left the stage after her speech. Our reporters went out to talk to wizards and witches alike, and they were not happy about it. While some people left, others stayed to ask Hawthorne their questions.

There was no cheering when she came out again. She took the stage and as soon as she opened her mouth there was loud bang. There, right in front of our eyes, a fake body that looked exactly like Hawthorn fell down from a lamp post. Fear struck our hearts, readers, as screams, gasps, and concerned whispers ran out from the crowd. Hawthorne was horrified as was everyone else around her. Aurors quickly rushed to the stage, escorting Hawthorne off the stage and into Gringotts.

** The Aurors scanned the crowd looking for any danger; fearing an attack, but nothing happened. However, this note was found on the stage; it fluttered down from the fake body’s hand. It reads;

“Fellow witches and wizards,

The time has come for us to bring our organization to the forefront. We are sick and tired of the elitist attitude purebloods have exhibited for decades and decades. We cannot pretend that everything is okay in the wizarding community anymore. Not when Death Eaters and Death Eater supporters are living right under our noses and working in our ministry, making our rules.

The people that are in power do not care about you unless you’re a pureblood and interested in kissing their egotistical asses. If you’re fed up with these rules that only benefit the slim percent of our community and you want some damn justice, you won’t have to wait much longer.

The Crimson Allies are coming.”

The fake body of Hawthorne was clearly a threat. We reached out to Hawthorne’s team at the Ministry and got no comment. So all we can say is be safe, readers. We’re not out of hot water yet.

hey y’all! welcome to part two of the minister’s speech. you certainly didn’t think we’d leave it on that note did you?

anyways, here’s the rundown of what just happened:

minister hawthorne came out to answer questions from the crowd about the state of the wizarding world.

before she could even speak, a fake body came down that looked exactly like hawthorne.

a note fell from the dummy announcing that the crimson allies are real and they threatened the minister.

they implied death eaters hold positions of power and work in the ministry.

they also promised that they will get justice.

what does it mean for your characters?

if they were in diagon alley, it’s likely they were there when the fake body dropped. feel free to make starters about it! they can take place at the scene or even a day or two afterwards.

no attacks happened so there should be no injuries. if your characters want to take cover in shops and what not until the commotion is over, that’s also fine.

for crimson ally characters: only a select few knew of the plan and that will probably will be revealed on the dash as time goes on. if you weren’t told about it, your character doesn’t know, even if they are in the army. we encourage your characters to attempt to find out tho.

A note from the Ministry of Magic:

Dear Wizarding Community,

First and foremost, the Ministry would like to apologize for the recent events that have put most, if not all of you, in fear. It is our job to protect the people, and we acknowledge how many feel we have not done that.

The Ministry hears your concerns about everything that has happened this year. From the emergence of the Successor, to the new legislation, to attacks on the people of our community, and finally, to our own Chief Warlock being arrested and exposed as a Death Eater; it seems as though things are getting darker and darker each day.

However, that means there is more of a chance for light to shine. This Wednesday, August 14th, the Minister will be addressing the wizarding community in Diagon Alley. She will be making a speech about her thoughts on the matters of the attacked and the Chief Warlock, along with giving updates about what is going to happen in the future. Your concerns are heard.

It seems like the Ministry is finally getting their stuff together and addressing the wizarding world about the recent attacks and the arrest of Draco Malfoy. So here’s what that means:

This is the first time Minister Hawthorne has publicly addressed the Wizarding world.

On August 14th, everyone is invited to Diagon Alley to listen to Minister Hawthorne’s speech.

We will be making a post about the speech and then your characters can make starters/closed interactions about what took place/is taking place.

Your character may not be interested and that’s okay, but trust us, it will be fun if they do attend.

FROM THE DESK OF THE MINISTER

Due to the events that happened at the Spring Cherry Blossom Festival, there have been amendments added to the muggle restriction laws that were put in place one year ago. 

Last year, not only were all letters and packages to the muggle world were subject to a search by the Ministry, but anyone thought to be in one of these “armies” would be prosecuted. The law that will be amended is the travel law. The law states: 

ALL TRAVEL TO MUGGLE LOCATIONS WILL BE MONITORED. Floo Networks and Portkeys will be traced. Specific points for apparating will be placed throughout the wizarding world for muggle transportation. As stated above, if we believe your travel is anything other than pleasure or business, you will be brought into Ministry custody.

The new amendment:

IN ORDER TO TRAVEL TO MUGGLE LOCATIONS, YOU MUST APPLY FOR A LICENSE. The threat to our wards is what keeps us safe. Our sense of safety cannot be taken away from us. Thus, only specific people will be allowed to travel to and from the wizarding world. If you wish to do so, you will need to take a test in order to be granted a license for travel. Aurors will be placed at the specific apparating points to check licensing. Anyone without a license will be brought into custody.

If we believe you are acquiring a license for precarious reasons, the Ministry has the right to deny your license. The tests for licensing will start one month from now.

Greetings from Minister Hawthorne!

It’s a sunny day in Diagon Alley when Minister Hawthorne stepped out onto the stage, right in front of Gringotts bank. Some cheered, some booed, and some said nothing at all, but the crowd was large. Wizards and witches alike came to see what the Minister had to say and we have it reported just for you:

“My dear community,” she started off, “My heart sinks with yours as I think about all of the terrible things that has happened this year. I have let you down and I know that. I acknowledge how some my find my actions lacking, but I am here today to tell you that I am by your side. The Ministry is by your side. And I will not let you down again.

There are various things that I would like to address. One, about the attacks, we have worked closely with the Auror department and stand one hundred percent behind the suspect they arrested a few weeks ago. It is…disheartening to believe our Chief Warlock would betray us this way, but we cannot argue with the evidence.

Two, I would like to clear up the theories about this so-called Successor. It’s been over a decade since the Wizarding world was threatened. Lord Voldemort put terror into people’s hearts and minds, and split our community apart. But through love, we defeated him and grew closer. This…Successor is nothing to fear because they are not a threat. They are not real. These…‘death eaters’ are cheap imitations attempting to divide us and make us feel the same fear we did all those years ago. We are working closely with the Auror department to catch these band of fools, and put us back where we were, back where we deserve to be; happy, loving, and fearless.

The Ministry will work hard to ensure that we earn your trust back.”

The crowd thundered with applause while Minister Hawthorne smiled and wave. She stood as audience members clapped before nodding her head and walking into Gringotts Bank, most likely getting herself together. So, is the speech over? Not yet, readers. According to her publicist, Minister Hawthorne is taking a small recess before coming back to answer questions.

here’s what went down;

minister hawthorne gave a speech about the wizarding community coming together.

she called draco malfoy guilty for the attacks, arguing that the evidence is correct.

she denies the rumors the successor.

she doesn’t think the death eaters are real, they’re just people being copy cats attempting to put fear in the hearts of everyone in the wizarding world.

she is working closely with aurors to find out who the fake successor and death eaters are in order to put in end to everything.

she is currently taking a break and will come back to answer questions that people in the crowd might have.

what does that mean for your characters? basically, it’s up to you to decide if they believe her.

your characters can be in diagon while she’s making the speech; feel free to make starters as the speech is going on or during her quick break.

Breaking - Ministry Shuts Down Amidst Protesting Rumors of Lawsuits

November 5th, 2027

The Ministry has been placed under a complete lockdown as protesters surround Wizarding London showing their disapproval for the strict regulations put in place by the Ministry that many say ostracize not only muggleborns, but squibs as well.

There have also been rumors of potential lawsuits directed towards the Ministry, but the heads of department for the DMLE have yet to comment.

Aurors have been placed around Wizarding London, more specifically in Diagon Alley, outside the Ministry, and Gringotts. This story is developing.
