Aethelred glared at her murderously from his place up on the dais, and Aethelflaed smiled in response. She thought of going on, of telling him how adultery might have been a sin, but he had committed far worse and surely that would make any of her mistakes pale in comparison. If God had brought her Uhtred, could this be so wrong? Perhaps all else she had suffered had been intended to drive her to him, into his arms, and now this was the reward for it, a bit of heaven on earth.

It is me or uhtred looks kinda jealous when Aethelflaed married aethelred. And then the looks and smile he gaves her.😍😍

Yeah that's the vibe i got, a bit of jealousy and protictiveness. Uhtred has always been protective of her. Aethelred definately didn't made a good impression, especially after he disrespected Gisela right in front of him. Like he said she's too good for him.

i just love how emotionally open Uhtred is. this boy feels SO MUCH and he’s not afraid to show it. he’s so expressive with his feelings and he’s so vulnerable. after Beocca’s death, he didn’t try to hide his pain and ignore his grief. instead, he mourned for the loss of his father figure (”without Beocca, i have no home”) and made his sorrow known; he cried while being comforted by Finan and embracing his hug; he broke to tears and collapsed in Aethelflaed’s arms the second she asked him what happened. he allows others to see what he’s feeling and he doesn’t bury his hurt. he cares and loves with his whole heart. PLEASE PROTECT HIM.
