dear boyfriend,

oh man, i can already tell this is going to be embarrassing. but it’s for you, and i’d do anything for you. and you know, this letter is very nicely timed, as it just so happens to be december 12th today. what an interesting date, don’t you think? ah yes, one month ago today, we became official. like, for real. seriously. a couple. us. together. wow. can you believe it?!?!? happy anniversary, taetae.

we’ve only been together for a month now, but you’ve really turned my whole world upside down. it’s amazing, how one person can affect you in such a way. even when we met it was like, wow, how could such a person exist? somebody who can actually put up with me on a daily basis, somebody who laughs and plays along with my bad jokes, somebody who just loves and accepts me for me. like, are you even real, kim taehyung?! i’m forever blessed to have even been able to call you a friend, and even more so to actually be able to call you mine.

this past month with you has been more than i could have ever asked for. i’ve never felt more special in my life, and that’s saying a lot. even just this past month has felt like the best month of my life, as cliche as that sounds. i think you’ve helped me come through some of my insecurities, and that’s pretty amazing. i hope you know how much you mean to me.

most people would think i’m a difficult person to be around, but i’m glad you don’t think so. i hope you never think so, now that i mention it. i’d probably shrivel up and die, and you don’t want that, right?! i don’t think you’d feel that way anyway, unless i reaaaally screwed something up, and if that ever happens, feel free to kindly slap me in the face or something. seriously.

i love you so much, and thank you for loving me too, taehyung. i hope to spend many many maaanyy more months with you.

[ ☂ ] stages of life headcanons.

♕ : Their teen years

It was during his teen years that things started to go downhill for Hongki. At fifteen, when he entered high school, his attempts to find his niche led to him getting involved with older and more reckless students. He was often in trouble for fighting, and a couple times was even caught stealing. This led to a lot of conflict with his father, and the boiling point came when he ran away from home at sixteen. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning of the hardships in his life, and the things he had to do while struggling to get by on his own as a teenager led to a lot of bad decisions and unhealthy habits that he still has to this day. Right now, at twenty-six, he’s still fairly young, but already he knows if he was given a chance to have a complete do-over of one stage of his life, he would not even hesitate to take it. He has too many regrets and nothing to show for it.

♖ : Their first friend

my first friend? well, the furthest back i can remember is probably.. second year of primary school? there was this kid, this guy, we were pretty much inseparable. he lived right down the street from me. cliché, right? anyway, he was my first real good friend, until one day, he showed up to class and just told me he was moving, to america. i guess his parents could afford it. but anyway i didn’t talk to him the whole rest of the day, ‘cause i was young and dumb and really mad. you can’t blame me, alright. i was gonna apologize the next day, but he never showed up. and he continued to not show up. i haven’t seen him since. he must be some huge millionaire by now, don’t you think?

woah woah woah there, buddy. alright. so i was like, seven. there was me and this group of friends i had, and they said they’d buy me a week’s worth of snacks if i went and kissed this girl on the lips. i didn’t even know her, so of course i did it. nothing to lose, right? but turns out she had a huge crush on me, and i wasn’t about that life, so man was it hard avoiding her the rest of the year.

There they were. Standing proudly atop a stone and quietly preening at their bright blue feathers. Without so much a care in their world, Jinah was immersed by the sapphire coloring contrasting with the white breasts and red orange tail feathers. She was ecstatic as her pencil sketched effortlessly across the blank page in her notepad. Trying to capture as much of the detail as she possibly could in the time she gave herself, she found herself losing time because she would occassionaly look back and get mesmerized by the two small birds who seemed to be comfortable where they were. You couldn’t really predict birds in this situation though. They could fly off at any moment, but it could also be prevented or so she thought. Bending her long legs and angling the sketchpad against her legs, she erased and redrew a few messy lines. 

She was quite familiar with these birds. And how during this time of the year they left the island of jeju to migrate elsewhere for the season. Sometimes the small birds could end up in places not quite native to them, and that’s what there two were doing just now. It was strangely romantic for her, and the thought of finding the two birds her source for romance was a little sad. Out stretching her legs again against the grass, she wasn’t too concerned about the residue of green that would be on her pants; after all, leggings weren’t much to have a fit over.

It was nice when her days off allowed her to do things like this. Her phone was tucked away, not having to worry about being on call that specific day. Ready to take her phone out next to snap a few photos here and there, in one instant the birds jet up; terrified by something or rather someone who had gotten into the picture with an offered treat. “Hey! Hey, you can’t feed them during this time! It ruins their migration pattern!”

"Hyung, you're handsome but remember who is 1 centimeter taller." he smiles, proud of the small height difference that barely makes any difference.

Looking up and down from his brothers head to toe, Jungshin gave a scoff showing he wasn’t entertained at all by his brothers claim. “Take your loafers off! you probably have an extra inch or even two in there!” Stands up and straightens his long figure with his neck craned as much as it allowed for the male to do.

Nam Jungshin. It seemed strange even to just think about it. His life up until this point seemed to be the epitome of perfect. While he was the only child (supposedly) and lacked a stable set of friends, Jungshin always had two very supportive parents that brought excitement and love to everyday situations. Family trips were a common thing, Dinners that were usually always prepped by Jungshin was always something special even if the most simplest of dishes was prepared. He grew (and man did he grow) to be an exuberant and polite young man. Always laughing and full of energy because everything always seemed so right in his life. 

That phone call though dreaded at first, was a turning point in the males life. The most hurtful point being that his parents weren’t exactly the biological ones they sought out and claimed to be. Though Jungshin wasn’t exactly discontent with them, it seemed appropriate to go and meet his father who had been waiting in Seoul. Seoul, the place where celebrities lived and living situations were most likely out of range for the prep chef. Luckily Seoul needed a few here and there so finding a job wasn’t the most difficult of tasks. Standing face to face with his father was the worse part. A man that was living to just care for himself was his biological father and his mother had been back in Busan with her other husband. Busan? Really? But it was all the truth, and the next task at hand was to go and see his kid brother who was easy enough to track down.

Luckily the younger of the two males lived at a share house, affordable enough for any struggling young adult to settle themselves into. Umbrella was nice enough. Floors were clean and wooden, ceiling were white and high and while much privacy wasn’t given it was the best option. Though outgoing and friendly, the other tenants weren’t his priority. There was plenty of time to meet them, plus Jungshin wasn’t planning to stay. After all his family was back in Ilsan.

It took a few days before Jungshin was roaming the share house with his large feet stomping unintentionally against the wooden tiles. Nam Joohyuk was the name of his brother. Joohyuk and Jungshin. Did they resemble one another? Would his brother share features of his? Was he tall? Was he short? Maybe they didn’t look alike at all, but whatever the case was he was his sibling. Standing in front of the room which seemed to be shared by several males, Jungshin’s hand rose with his fist balled so his knuckle could tap gently at the wooden door. His heart stopped a bit, because even if his brother wasn’t going to be specifically opening the door, he was still just minutes away from meeting him.
