@gradientdescent-does-it-all inspired by our conversation about whether uj cake would make decent hiking food, yesterday I dusted a slice in potato starch, wrapped it in parchment paper, left it overnight, and then threw it in my purse today while running errands. Worked great! I really don’t think it even needed the potato starch, but it would probably help if a batch came out sticky.
Behold, the starched uj cake after being in my purse for about eight hours. It’s essentially unchanged.
If I were feeling a little more motivated I’d plug the ingredients into one of those online calorie calculators and see if I could get a rough estimate of calories per slice, but I’m lazy. I would guess it’s similar to a Kind bar.
