Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?

I'd say this applies most to England x Germany.

At first, it gave me the ICK. England already gets made into a weak, helpless person enough, so pairing him with macho man Germany just seemed like an opportunity for fans to horribly exaggerate the size and muscle difference. I did indeed find some stuff along those lines, so I avoided it when I could. On top of that, I just didn't really see a reason for them to work personality wise as friends, let alone lovers.

Eventually I started coming across art where they looked good together. Normal. Like regular men, not some weird heteronormative yaoi version. At some point, I began considering what their dynamic would be like in general, as friends. I realised they had some things in common as well as traits that complemented the other. For example, Arthur and Ludwig both try to be responsible and mature, but Arthur is also wild and mischievous. I feel he would better succeed at helping Ludwig loosen up because of this.

Then I came across some EngGer doujins and those inspired even more possibilities.

They're both very kinky. And it dawned on me. Arthur likes telling people what to do. Ludwig is prone to following rules, instructions, and directions to the point of foolishness – like that time he drove off a cliff because the GPS told him to, or took that romance advice book too literally. 😆 Well...there are some fun implications to that. 👀 Do with it what you will.

Anyway, EngGer is now one of my favourites.

Hello it’s late, like 12:12 am at the moment im writing this lol

But I spent all day deciding whether or not to post this . @koolkat9 saw some nice (ugly 💀) hats and so i drew the boys in it. Also not anatomically correct, nor perfect lines

(Idk whether or not to post the photo of the hats since it aint my photo so i wont, but you can guess they’re country hats based on what Germany and England are wearing)

Blitz Party

I drew this today for a RP. Recently I discovered the Blitz Party in London, people dress up like they are from the 1940′s and dance to old tunes, and drink cocktails named after things like Spitfires.

Arthur was invited to a dance party so brought his date. Little did they know it was at the Blitz Party. It made for some awkward, tense and angsty moments for the former rivals who hurt each other so much in the past. They decide to get drunk and dance the night away. Arthur challenges Ludwig for the lead in their dance, the pair switch until Arthur comes out victorious, being an excellent dancer. Their own Battle of Britain on the dance floor. Furious dancing, and out of breath moments. Mm. Also Arthur stole someones hat.

And so Italy prods for information, waiting for his chance to strike. Look at him! He's not innocent at all!

I don't like GerIta so it would 100% be for platonic reasons on Italy's part, but the idea of them being passive aggressive over Germany is hilarious.

Is it time to unnecessarily read into my ships? Yes. Yes, it is.

Look at England trying to be all charming in front of Germany. And Germany half wanted to see him for personal reasons!

I CAN'T GET OVER ENGLAND DOING THE CHEEK-IN-PALM THING. Please don't look at Germany in such a manner. I don't know if he is ready for that level of flirtatiousness. Look at him sweating over there, too. England sure knows how to get people going.
