“Hey look, the Ukrainian flag!” my wife said to her sister, noticing the leftover rope we hadn’t used to haul home something we were being given (details unimportant but available upon request). Once home, she tuned into a Carnegie Hall concert with #yoyoma #emmanuelax and someone else, and they began the program (their first since the quarantine) with the Ukrainian national anthem, which, no surprise maybe, is tinged, positively *tinged* with musical melancholy even without the news of the day. We were moved by the performance. It was #movingday I guess. The national flower of Ukraine is the Sunflower which oddly enough I don’t have any pictures of. These Myosotis sylvatica flowers come pretty close to the Ukrainian national colors however. The common name of “Forget-me-not” seems frighteningly appropriate. Posting pictures of flowers won’t help much of anything but it’s what I do so it helps me feel less powerless.
