Nottingham Homestuck Meet

Alright. This is happening. Date may change but for now it's 1st august. This is just to let people know this is happening and there will be more details later. Me, or one of my friends, will meet people of trains/buses if need be. Let me know if you're interested and whatnot.

Hey everyone! These are the final details for our 413 meetup! We understand if you feel a little bit self conscious going out in Cosplay, so if you'd like us to come meet you beforehand and walk over to the library, then that's okay (we're self conscious too, don't worry.) The two organisers will be me (Ren as casual!Rose) and Bee (casual!John). Feel free to bring props, games etc, and we will be having a photoshoot! We are very excited and can't wait to meet you all

tbh im really angry at the UK HS community. It doesnt feel safe. there are like a good 5/6 people I know of who are abusers and rapists at the forefront of the meet groups etc. Two of whom abused me. 

And it doesnt feel safe. I feel less safe knowing there are people defending genuine actual 19 year olds in sexual relations with 14 year olds and saying we shouldnt publically out abusers.

LIKE WHY IS IT A CONTROVERSIAL STATEMENT TO SAY HEY IF YOU'RE OVER 18 DON'T DATE FUCKING 14 YEAR OLDS IF YOU'RE AN ADULT DATE ADULTS NOT FUCKING CHILDREN NO MATTER HOW GROWN UP OR SEXY YOU FIND THEM YOU'RE AN ADULT YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO FUCKING RESIST THEIR AFFECTIONS BC GUESS WHAT YOU'RE A BLOODY ADULT THEY'RE A CHILD AND IF YOU'RE FUCKING 19 DON'T DATE 14 YEAR OLDS THAT'S LITERALLY SO NOT OK THEY'VE LITERALLY NOT EVEN GOT A GCSE YET EVEN IF THEY'RE THE NICEST PERSON IN THE WORLD MAYBE DON'T DATE A FUCKING CHILD

And frankly if you stand by abusers/people accused of abuse rather than believing victims, please consider the following:

- Fake abuse reports are in the minority for reported abuse cases. If the reported abuse cases were higher in number, I am positive that number would go down. Ditto rape stastics. 

- Victim blaming and rape culture tell us to disregard the victim time and time again. If you dont even consider the thought that they are a victim, please shut up. And, furthermore why would you want to stand by or defend someone accused of literal sexual abuse towards a person, or literal physical/emotional/etc abuse towards a person, why? 

- What would a person reporting abuse get out of it? Like, what positive is there to gain from it? ("Attention" doesn't count bc nobody its all anonymous). Because, if they report it people will undoubtedly accuse them of lying irregardless of whether they are or not, they will be attacked for it, they will be put through considerable stress for it. What possible positive outcome happens through that? None. They have nothing to gain. Nothing. To. Gain.

- Dont even say "but they might out people who aren't abusers bc of a grudge" bc I know people who can let me know about whether there's beef going down, and most abusers will be serial abusers with multiple people affected. I'm not just taking shit at face value.

- If it makes the community safer as a whole, what is the problem, why are you opposed to people reporting their abuse and refusing to stand by whilst their abusers do more bad shit? I had to watch as my abuser went on to abuse more people and more people and it does nothing to make me feel anything but less guilty.

I'm... not even shocked at the number of people who were like "it's a bit extreme to out people who are abusive" tbh. Like not even surprised. I've been told I shouldn't just blindly believe victims but... as someone who was disbelieved, and as a product of rape culture, abuse victims aren't listened to like, ever. I'm much less concerned about hurting the feelings of abusers than I am hurting the feelings of victims. Plus I know what fake abuse stories sound like, but, like, the percentage of fake v real abuse stories is ridiculously low to ridiculously high sooo.

Considering my friends are still friends with someone who abused me, and at least 2 other people excuse a separate abuser's actions bc ~i dont wanna talk about it it triggers me leave me alone~ as if their actions didn't have extreme repercussions for me and several others. And people try to excuse both of those people. And let them get away with it. 

So no I will take a hard line with abusers. They don't fucking deserve niceties or respect they're abusers. I'm not gonna respect their god damn feelings or be nice to them.

I'm putting together a list to aid UKstuck and the UK cosplay community as a whole considering I can go onto their respective FB communities and see ppl who abused my friends taking centre stage. There are rapists and abusers there and the community needs to be made safer. I'm not talking about outing every single person who gets reported to me but I am going to out a significant bunch, especially those I know who like, you know, only raped my 15 year old friend and shit. 

the cosplay community is FULL of abusers and people who are dangerous to children. Won't stand for it.
