I've been putting off listening to this album for literally 3 years but I finally bought it last week and listened to it and it's one of the most amazing albums I've ever heard.
most people will not have time to listen to this album. but you have to try. it's only 10 hours, 4 minutes, and 39 seconds. if you put aside an entire saturday you can listen to it all the way through! that said, I did it in 2-3 hour chunks over the course of a couple of days.
there were times where I wanted to switch to another album and come back later. there were times where I genuinely wanted to skip a track (IChewPlastic - backpain comes to mind), but I stuck it out. and I've heard every second of the album.
highlights include:
7+ tracks that are just a 4 second clip of a metal pipe being dropped on the ground
YOU'RE LISTENING TO DJ POWERHOUSE (3 of almost the same 9 minute track sprinkled throughout the first half of the album, spaced in such a way that I found it funnier each time it played)
mashups approaching 20 minutes in length
a fucking 40 minute drum and bass set basically smack in the middle of the album (and a pretty decent set at that)
literally just the audio from the trailer of the 1995 movie under siege 2: dark territory
a track called "THIS IS TRACK 43" (which is track 47)
followed immediately by a track called "45" (this one is track 48)
a 45 minute track that felt like it was sapping all my energy and I genuinely struggled to finish but it was certainly an experience
the ENTIRETY of pompeii by bastille, completely unmodified
and much much more insane shit
as someone who owns thousands of albums and listens to like 40-50 hours of music every week, this album genuinely gave me even more appreciation for music and sound in general
