Iterum!Tigerclaw coming to Canon would be so funny. Imagine how his kids would react! Hawkfrost would hate the guy, but his other kids would love him. Tigerstar in cat hell looking down like "who is this chump that looks like me?" They'd probably meet in hell, but I doubt they'd team up since Tigerstar is just in it for revenge at this point.

This is a fun instance where this murder actually happened in the first playthrough of Direclan that I did, which did not get made into comic form (the Dire on this account is round 2). I’m pretty sure it was a random murder because it originally happened when Blizzardfawn was still an apprentice and also she did not hate Hazel nearly enough to kill her! But it went crazy so thats why I took that from the original run, thats part of what kicked off all the Direclan drama stuff

The fact that Lain "sees" the king for the first time since his death, and king insults him? That hit so hard! The sandwich technique of love, cruelty, and forgiveness is exactly how this stuff plays out irl. And Lain is far from happy to see him, he's terrified of retaliation. My poor kitty cat

One of the things that made me realize my dad was ~bad~ is that whenever he appeared in my dreams, it was a bad dream. I hope Lain realizes that too

and I do think what you said is something to keep in mind with this page specifically. This is Lain's imagination of The King, not actually him. And that fact that Lain's immediate scenario upon seeing this ""ghost"" of The King is to imagine being degraded and told that he should've died instead is incredibly telling.

It'll be a very long journey for him, but he'll start unpacking all of this eventually.
