Grandizo Munis- Spanish Communist and Politician. He was a member of the Workers' Party of Marxist Unification (POUM) and the small Seccion Bolshevik-Leninista, that sought to influence the ranks of the POUM and also worked closely with the more left-wing anarchists of the Durruti Column.

It remains doubtful that token participation will assuage the worker's alienation. More likely, it will underline it and make even clearer the true nature of the union-management relationship, which will still obtain. It may be more probable that traditional union institutions, such as the paid, professional stratum of officials and representatives, monopoly of membership guaranteed by management, and the labor contract itself will be increasingly re-examined as workers continue to strive to take their work lives into their own hands.

I need a space to be able to write critically (though also appreciatively) about the communization current / self-identified ultra-left in US radical politics. I live in California, where they are coming to hegemonize a certain kind of radical politics. This crew also overlaps with what people call "insurrectionists," but I find that self-identified insurrectionists are really a pretty restricted group of people. Some of us used to call them "occupationists" in the 2009-10 student movement, but after Occupy, we are all occupationists. Score one for them.
I'm calling this an immanent critique because I'm friends with some people in the communization current, both politically and socially, and I'm glad the idea of communism is being renewed today, in some ways through the analysis and action of this crew. While I appreciate them, I also think certain aspects of their M.O. are wrongheaded and not up for debate in these circles or even on their margins, which means that the scene ends up being intellectually dishonest in certain ways.
Let me make clear that this is not intended as a space for liberal hand-wringing (though of course it's entirely possible that I haven't killed my inner liberal in some respects). I'm a revolutionary socialist, amongst other political and personal identities.
