My most commonly employed laser is still a CO2 or carbon dioxide laser . . 🔬Skin science: CO2 laser is known as an ablative laser. The chromophore or target is water @ the wavelength of 10.600 nm. I use this laser in both the fully ablative and fractional mode. The CORE CO2 from Syneron Candela is a 30 W ‘fine’ laser for superficial acne scars & around the eyes in the context of skin rejuvenation. The #Ulttrapulse is still the big daddy of CO2 lasers; super powerful with an array of delivery options. I use this laser for #sundamage, #elastosis, #wrinkles & #rosacea #rhinophyma. The #Mixto laser by Lasing USA sits somewhere in between, good for darker skin types with short pulse duration . . 👉🙄My second most commonly employed laser is a #nanolaser; namely a Q Switch laser. This laser can treat #melasma, #birthmarks & sunspots. Very old wavelength and pulse duration, but still relevant in the #dermatology . . 👍🏻💥A newer wavelength is 1927 nm, using both thulium and diode lasers. This laser works as a ‘carpet bomber’ 💣rather than a ‘smart bomb’, namely multiple non-specific targets in the skin, including water, pigment, vessels and others. #Fraxel and Clear and Brilliant are first generation 1927 lasers, whist the #lutronic ULTRA - #LaseMD is the newest addition to this wonderful wavelength.
