omg I thought the zero dies arc was ep 12 but it’s actually a couple eps early, right on the second disc, love love LOVE this arc
I was thinking ‘huh, geed’s soundtrack really reminds me of build, wonder if it’s by the same composer’ & it is! I’m a fan of kawai kenji’s work
Started rewatching geed w lex and I gotta say. shows are so easy to watch when they’re on a blu-ray/dvd collection. you just pop in a disc and let it go. anyway I forgot how much geed was my number one fave ultra series I love it so much it’s SO fun and also I love love love the zero-leito bodysharing dynamic. zero swoops in & goes like hey I saw you eat shit trying to save a kid then get hit by a truck. kinda cringe but I dig it. also extremely funny how leito’s like it sure is nice to be home with my daughter and zero’s like. [has known her for .05 seconds] Our Daughter
can’t believe they don’t include the special donshine ep in the eng release big L for us
I really like geed’s writing in terms of there being episodic setups but very clear hooks and continuity that has both short term and long term payoff, like with the shop owner + his sister + his niece having to evacuate the first ep and the niece being the central character in ep 2. also in general I like when episodic series have a good ensemble/community focus and geed does it so well by having multiple circles to explore and allowing them to overlap, like how there’s folks in riku’s sphere (mostly civilians) and folks in moa’s sphere (mostly aliens) and folks in leito’s sphere (family :)). a little similar to gopri & fourze’s strengths in having focus in a minor character every arc and allowing the main characters to establish character development or consistency based on what conflict the minor character may be having.
actually it’s really funny bc for geed it’s like [adoringly] it’d be ok if my guy my fave my bestie zero died for the narrative, but a while ago a pal was talking abt if shotaro died in w and I was like. [wailing inconsolably]
